New C36 Owner. Glad to be here!

Hello all,

I just recently turned 25 and decided to purchase a vehicle I always admired but never could afford.

It is a 97 C36 AMG in dark green originally from Japan. (I live in British Columbia Canada)

Almost near perfect with the exception of a bit of paint work, the head liner, and a bent side skirt.

I was just wondering if anyone knows if you can use a stock radio from any C class from the era to replace my existing one? Mine will not pick up North American frequencies since it is an import.
Cheers

Thanks for the warm reply and info! I think I might go with an after market setup with Bluetooth, USB input etc. It's a shame I won't be able to use the 12 disc cd player in the trunk but you can't have it all.
Cheers

if you want to use the trunk cd changer you need an MB deck or you might even hook up the aftermarket deck if you are lucky?
there are cheap ones on fleabay, try to find one with cd hanger option

aftermarket Alpine disc changer I had in the trunk of my 1994 C280 only skipped once or twice in the 13 years I drove it.

Factory MB disc changer in the trunk of my C43 skips every time a mosquito farts! It's pathetic. But I want to keep it original, so it stays.

A DARK GREEN C36!? Christ, that's my dream right there. My C280 was the dark green and man oh man did I fall in love with it. Something about a w202 in that color. It's just magic to my eyes. Post pics asap!

I'll give her a bath the next sunny day and post some photos. I noticed mine has that small AMG badge at the bottom of the front spoiler, is that stock?

My CD player never skips! Maybe you just need to clean the laser eye?

I have a stock deck and cd changer I could be talked out of for cheap enough. Came out of my 97. I'm down near Portland Oregon. I took them out when I did a double din conversion.

I already through in a new deck unfortunately. I would have taken it off your hands for sure. What would you sell it for?

Right on. Which head unit did you settle for? I'm not even sure on the price. I'd have to look on eBay to even see what they are going for. then knock a fair bit off since it would be going to a forum member that could use it. The timing was off, I was up your way boarding at whistler a month ago could have packed it up with me.

I got a decent Kenwood unit. USB Bluetooth streaming all the goodies.
First time to whistler?
