I looked under the rear of the car and it took a good hit. The edge where the bumper foam rests is pushed in about an inch and the spare tire tub is deformed as well. The radiator support is toast as is the radiator. I can't get the hood open so that is what I can see at this point. The ac surprisingly is still charged. By insurance company standards I'm pretty sure it is a write off. We will see how things go once they inspect it.

Really sorry to see this, I hope you can save her..looks saveable. If for some reason you don't, I would take your mirrors off your hands.

Glad you are OK, but very sorry for the 36. I'm sure it can be repaired and it could be a good project. Certain parts may be a problem as they are getting on in age.

the vast majority of the stuff you need will be super easy and available on the used w202 market. the only parts you will need to source are the bumpers, being AMG specific.
friend of mine had a sweet w124 that was hit in the rear at least this bad. insurance company wrote it off and handed him $5k, he took it to a shop and for about $2500 the rear end looked like it had never happened except for an odd crease in the spare tire tub.
but the parts in the front are all standard w202. Damn, wish I still had my 95 C280 parts car. I'd tear the front end down and ship you a box with everything but the passenger headlight and bumper!

well, if I had the cash I would not hesitate at all to buy the written off car from you, ship it here, and do it myself. I'd LOVE to have a C36 to pair with my black C43.

Unfortunately the car is a C280 not a C36. I added the OEM C36 body kit along with the brakes and exhaust. Friday the adjuster from my insurance company is going to look at it but according to the other party's insurance company the car is deemed a total loss just based on the damaged areas. Been through hell and back with this car so part of me wants to revive it to it's former glory but the cost of just the damaged AMG bits will make this a financially bad decision.

Sorry for your loss man, but glad you made it out fine. I'm worried about the same thing happening with the retarded drivers around here. I know my insurance won't cover a true mb AMG part.

Maybe not done afterall. It was no surprise the car was deemed a total loss with preliminary estimates coming in at $10K. Time will tell if I made the right decision as I bought the car back from the insurance company and am now in the process of collecting parts to put it back together. I might return it to stock form as the AMG rear bumper is hard to find.
