New here, question about cluster lighting on a C36
Hello all, just picked up a 1996 C36 AMG, loving the car but I had one question. At night I would really like to see the "AMG" on the instrument cluster, light up. Wondering if they do normally and a bulb is just out on mine or if there is a mod that people have done perhaps to get it to light up like in the C43's.

Congrats on purchasing one hell of a car! I also have a '96 C36 AMG and unfortunately no, the C36 clusters did not illuminate the AMG but they changed that in '98 with the C43 cluster. I always wanted the same thing aswell lol. Congrats on the Purchase and take great care of her and she will do the same to you. They're getting rare these days!

Thanks BenzMaster! yeah she's got higher K but I bought it off of the original owner and have all receipts for service .
I'm wondering that as well cm60k, what abought swapping in a C43 cluster completely? or are they different plugs etc?

2000 (W202 C200) & 2000 (W202 C55)
C43 cluster will fit perfectly, and all plugs & connectors are the same, the only problem with BAS/ESP or BAS/ABS light will shows-up, cause both having different BAS/ESP/ABS set-up,,
if you can get C43 cluster, you can just swapping the dials to your C36 cluster..

1997 Mercedes Benz C36 AMG
5 or 6 bulbs are out in my cluster on my 97 C36. I tried accessing them without taking the wheel off but you can't get the middle ones.
I've seen some guys replace the bulbs with LED ones.
Anyone heard of this?

I'm not sure if U.S version will accept LED's..!?!,
in Euro/Japan version you have to put Error Canbus LED's,,

Sure, you can swap the C43 cluster and pull-out BAS/ESP/ABS bulbs, i'm NOT prefer that, depend to you,,
you can also order the dials from Moman(Adam), they have brilliant quality illuminated dials for any AMG's:
