i wanna see some nice close up pics of your car with your new front calipers
did you install the left calip on right side wheel and vise versa?
or did you do something else?
thanks
I just had my swap done not even a month ago. Im loving how effortless the car is to drive.
Please let us k ow what you do about the whole ecu situation. Are you just reflashing it or are you gonna do a tune?
i have the same but brand new calipers and discs at home waiting to install them in a few years maybe in 2020? when my current c43 pads are ready to retire.
seems like my Portefield R4s pads don't wear a lot, they have been very rigid and quiet, great pads if you want low dust on your rims
how do you like your braking with the new kit compared to c43 brakes?
do you still use the original c43 brake master cylinder for c55 calipers?
do you notice any spongy brake feel when you apply your brake pedal?

Used stock master, much better braking and firmer pedal. FYI the c55 brembo calipers use ceramic brembo pads. a lot less brake dust compared to stock 43 pads. was having to wipe my wheels every couple days with stock pads and now with new ones dust takes much much loner to accumulate.

these are awesome pads with great biting!
however these pads dust like crap, rims needs to get rinsed very often
i bought Akebono euro ceramic pads for my new C55 brake kit.
many people on this forum praised these pads as being very good.
My idea was to keep it incase anything were to happen. But im wanting to have the engine worked so I can build it up. Brabbus took the m113 430 engine and were able to make a 5.8 and renntech had the clk and e60s that were bored out 430's m113 engines to 6.0 so I know it can be done. would be nice to have a 6.0+L m113 with ported heads and all and have cams done. would be sick then. but once the 55 engine is in the next step is forced induction. I have two turbos that I REALLY want to do a rear mount turbo set up but also I can get my hands on a Vortec blower....but ill need to make a front timing cover bracket like on the Lorinser C43 that they put a what looks to be a vortec type blower. so that's the plan. But a turbo or supercharged 55 would be cool but that built 6.0+ with turbos or supercharged would be a lot cooler...and if nitrous can be added yeah id like to have a little added kicker
I highly doubt it matters. do you think they look at you car after you tune it, add a supercharger, etc?? I sure as hell don't tell my insurance company im modifying my car or anyone. as far as im concerned "I don't know anything about any modifications, I bought this car like this" and ill stick to that

I don't think insurance looks to Mechanical/Electrical side..!, they may concern about differ body kit only, isn't..?
ZAYED,,
Yeah wasn't planning on it and had a lot of problems trying to get the right spacers for up front. FYI anyone...I highly recommend that you don't go over a 3mm spacer upfront as it makes it really difficult to center the wheel on the hub past 3mm. I first got 5mm for upfront and could not even drive down the road a mile before I turned back to my shop. the wheel wobble and balance was sooooo bad. and also I had 235/40 18s up front at first and they rubbed way too much so I got the 225/40's. and once everything was fitted well I had only a tiny little rubbing on the inside front fenders on a little crease part....just sanded it smooth and fixed that. and also very slight in the rear on the inside where this little plastic tab comes off the rear bumper. sanded down as well and all is good. and no one can see where I trimmed the inside unless you took wheels off and stuck your head inside the wheel wells. wouldn't of had to run spacers if I didn't put those bigger brakes up front but they look a lot better than stock so that was reason enough.
are you happy?
did you get any help with engine swap?
what year was your donor engine?
did it come from a w210 car?
do you have a gps reading your speed, compare your gps speed to cluster.
check how much it differs?
you are losing traction because you have way too much torque, your roads are they snowy or wet?
you have to check for codes if you ESP is out of whack when your car is sliding sideways.
how is your rear tires are they worn?
