Ugh Oh ... I May Have Found My E63... But
So I picked up my C43 just a few weeks ago, little over a month.
Drove it straight to MBZ and dialed it in with receipts and Genuine parts,
and have only put on 800 miles and that was in 2 weekends from going
up and down the coast and Napa and etc.. I bought this to carry me until
I found a White on Black W211 E63 with Pano under 50K miles which is
somewhat of a unicorn, and I got a call this morning that I "MAY" have
stumbled on one. I have this C43 and an E92 BMW and an Audi Avant and
E30 and more. My wife loves her BMW and feels the C43 is heavy feeling
for her but she loves the power. Im going to look at the E63 on Saturday
if the truck arrives on time otherwise next monday.I really really want to
keep my W202 and am trying my hardest to convince wife to use it. It has
less miles then my BMW. Our goal is the main 2 in garage cars to be an E63
and a Cayenne GTS or Range Rover Sport. If the C43 has to go, ill throw it
out to all the forum members 1st. Might off the Audi instead, too soon to tell.
Its pretty amazing with only 97K on it. I searched 3 months to find one in
Silver, with Piano two tone and under 100k .. Very bitter sweet post for me
right now. Here is a pix link after exterior detail. I hope I don't
like the E63 that arrived so soon, I'm just not ready yet.

If the e class is halfway decent, it'll be hard not to get it. They may not be the fastest ones out there, but what an overall package. The powerband of that 6.2 is perfection. The sound, the trans, plus the chassis and car overall, its a very nice package, I'd like to have a 211 63 at some point they are such nice rides.

I had a w211 E500 and I kick myself all the time
for selling it but I wanted to pony up for the E55, then I drove an E63
and set my mind on having it , White on Black. Such an amazing
machine and the paddle shifting with the roar that car makes is intoxicating.

ditch your DKW with 4 olympic O-rings in the grille and ditch your car with beemer logo.
then get the other AMG.
if you sell your c43 you will commit treason against your c43 forum brothers

I must admit, as of recently I'm SERIOUSLY considering selling one of my C43's and pulling the trigger on a w211 E55.
Something so tempting about that sledgehammer m113 kompressor.
I just wish they had used that same package in the 210 E55. The 211 may be super nice and fast with lots of modern options, but the 210 was much more attractive and muscular looking. The 211 is a little too much bubble and curve. But that 470hp m113 is REALLY tempting.

I'm afraid I'm in the same boat. Just test drove an 05 E55 and loved it. Also weighing the idea of an E63. Don't get me wrong, I love the 43, but thinking I might need just a bit more of a car pretty soon.

Sometimes I can't forgive MB/AMG for going with a 4.3 over the 5.4 in the w202. It's just not fair. Instead of being the sport-sedan that defined the generation, it gets listed as "well if you don't like an M3, you can also get a C43."

I would definitely want an e63. The sound, the looks, the sleeper factor....its all there but i think id have a hard time deciding between that an a c63. Im sure the e63 has more goodies and its obviously bigger but theres just something else about a small sedan with a big v8
Now if we were really to dream big, id get my self the new cls63
Ill never forget when i saw one of those spank an old school camaro leaving the bridge toll. That thing is pure evil

Yep. I love my 43, for all the right reasons. But when it took everything she had to keep up with a mazdaspeed3 from a 40mph dig on the interstate, I feel it's sort of a betrayal to the AMG badge. Granted, I had 4 people in the car, nearly 300k miles, and he punched it before I did. It's a naturally aspirated 4 cylinder hatchback. An AMG should have utterly eaten him alive, but she was struggling to keep up.
My temptations have been for a 2005 CLK55 Coupe or a 2007 SLK55, but I'm in sell mode now, so that won't be happening for a while. A C63 would be sweet too, I just don't want to have multiple cars that serve the same purpose and the C43 and C63 might be a little too close. That makes it easier for the future wife to try to reason why it might be time to thin the herd So that's why I have the daily driver, the weekend car, the vintage car, the track car, etc....

C43 is a fun car. The 4.2L v8 is a great power plant for every day driving. When running properly and when the transmission is not being lazy, c43 is a blast to drive.
I doubt a mazda or a mustang of that generation or any other car of that generation thats in its class has that torque curve. Thats what its all about.
Its noticeable in the c36 even. The throttle response is a lot less linear and that in my opinion kills the fun. I dont care how fast the car is at wot

A V8 AMG from a 40mph dig on a wide open interstate? If I were in ANY other AMG than a w202 AMG, I would have laughed as I blew by him.
I look at my C43's every day and just smile at how classic, gorgeous, and cool they are. But man. They may have been impressive in 1999 with 308hp, but in 2015 you really have to be okay with the fact that regular cars can keep up with you or smoke you with ease. Ecoboost Mustang? Bone stock 370z or G37 coupe? Hell, the BMW 335 will probably smoke me. And he's a $500 ecu tune away from having 100+ more HP than me.
I'm reaching that point where I need to pull the trigger on a 55 swap or upgrade to a "real" AMG.
But one of the C43's is never leaving. Probably keeping my 99 silver one that was crashed.

I had 3 passengers on board, plus I still have some goofy suspension bug going on in the back. Everytime I accelerate the rear end wants to dance around and it's definitely robbing some hp. I can hear the engine's load change as the car is struggling with something going wrong between the rear wheels.
I should never have floored it, but the teenage moron in me couldn't resist...

Drove my C last night and realized I made it 70 miles without the radio on,
I also took notice that I haven't even used the radio much. I enjoy listening to the engine and trans,
Last night when driving home, I also came to the confirmed conclusion that my
C43 in [D] rides better, smoother, more aggressive and quiet than my 2003 W211 E500 with Air suspension.
I was taken back by how no bump in the road made me jerky or cringe, Im really happy with
the suspension set up and how "ready" this car feels. Plus my interior is really quiet .

keep the w202 and fogget the rest
the c43 will be the cheapest one to own for many years, newer cars has to many electronic gremlins costs more to maintain

Lol I know that would be the most logical thing to do right!!
Look at my garage not much logic more so impulsive indulging in my quest to own every euro I ever said I want. My bucket list is lengthy and im really making my way through (too many cars to list and thankful) - but I vow to always always always have an AMG in my stable as my go to ride or die.

if your pockets are full of doe and you don't have to tighten your belt, spend them on your dream cars
however don't fogget to spend some of your hard earned $$$ on your wife too otherwise she might feel left out?

Not so much full of dough but euro cars emotionally move me - plus wife is plenty taken care of plenty - cool thing is she says
"When you have a car you love, you spend time with me going the places I love" . It's a win win so she's open with my spending -
