Trans Service
Took my C43 into the local dealership for a oil change & trans service.
Did I get a surprise, $565 for the trans service, 7 liters of fluid @ $34. per liter.
Granted, they drain the converter & do the job correctly but they have no shame.

Is this the first time you have done the transmission service on your car?
Curious if going to a local asian autoshop to find out what they charge, but quality of work would be questionable ofcourse

I don't work on my cars anymore other than very minor items but I do have good knowledge about what's right or wrong with the car. Certain repairs I don't trust anyone other than the dealer to do, so have to pay the bill. I would be careful about going to one of those trans shops that work on everything. Just my opinion.

$34 /liter is beyond ridiculous.
Local MB dealer has the OEM MB trans fluid for close to $20 /liter and that's on the expensive side.
You can get the OEM stuff online for around $10-$13 /liter or go Shell ATF134 for about $7-$8/qt
I hope for that bill of $500 they did everything including filter, gasket and at least checked the trans electric plug, park release link and rear transmission seal which are known for leaking.

They drained the converter, total was 7 liters of #001-989-68-03-13 I am sure with the new 7 speed trans the fluid has been upgraded. When you say 8 that may include whats in the trans cooler. Yes, the filter, gasket and some other nickel items were included. Last year I had my spark plugs changed, that cost $680. I think maybe should be looking for a good Indie. Don't like to say what dealer but I live near Palm Desert.
