adjusting throttle response?

My throttle has gotten really lazy. Resetting the ecu doesnt help and its not my MAF sensor. I tried one from my friends car.

I would bury the foot and the car feels like its slowly catching up with the pedal until it unleashes its power.

Compared to my friends w202 c55, my car is really slow. Its been a lot faster before for sure.

Im thinking its the throttle response sensor or maybe I need to adjust the throttle cable. The problem is I dont know much about adjusting this stuff but from what I read it sounds like it could be related to that.

Can someone enlighten me or point me towards some info on adjusting throttle cable, when and why it should or should not be done.

Thanks in advance

If I recall, they are big $$$ at dealer, like $550, but really cheap online. I bought a used one for $45 that lasted 2 years before it failed again...

Someone here knows where to get new ones in the $150 price range.

do ya know the partsnumber for this sh-tty part?

so we should expect that this part might eventually fail on all our cars in the future if it didn't broke down yet?

that looks like the throttle position sensor but with all the mechanical attachments still on it. you can break it down to JUST THE SENSOR and it's much cheaper, like in the post I linked above

edit: or it's just another one, because here's what pelicanparts has for the number you gave, and it's same price and same part as the one I listed earlier: http://www.pelicanparts.com/cgi-bin/...sor)%2520%2520

Tried two different throttle position sensors and not much difference.

I noticed while at idle and i rev the car, it sounds kinda weird as the revs are coming down. It comes from the area where secondary cats are.

Would an exhaust leak cause these symptoms?

Anyone know if ill still pass SMOG in case i have to remove secondary cats?

did you change any gaskets before you put the 55 engine in your car?
maybe you have a leak somewhere causing you troubles.

buying used engines without replacing certain parts if they are worn out, you will have a bad performance engine.
did you check codes?

why don't you take your car to your MB mechanic buddy who did the job and tell him your issues, he can surely help you out.

If you have any leaks around O2 sensors, they will send an Error signal to the ECU during back pressure,,

check that as well..!

All seals were changed on the motor.

This is an issue thats kind of always been there on and off.

I think i might have found the problem. Too bad i didnt know about this before i changed the tranny fluid.

Read this. I have same symptoms and my tranny shifts from first to second kinda hard. It jerks the car.

Exhaust is welded and as you might have imagined that little hole really made no difference.

I really dont k ow what to look at next. I heard it could be the modulator valve but i dont even know where to find one.

I posted in the w210 section for info since i have a tranny from a 2001 e55 but no luck.

adjusting the bowden cable doesnt seem to make any difference

Any ideas?

Agreed. Might be time to take it to an indie or a dealer and have them at least diagnose it. It will save money in the long run versus throwing parts at it.
