Today I had to replace the fan clutch. Had installed a new one from FCP about a year ago. From day one the new clutch was bad but I didn’t know. The fan would spin like crazy as if the car was going to fly off the road.
Replaced it with the new one today and now I don’t hear the fan spin when I step on the gas sort of heavy.
Now I can hear the engine and not the fan.
Also, I was testing something last week. Went real fast up to 65mph or so and the fan belt slipped out and got shredded.
hope it was because of the fan clutch being stuck. I will have to test the car soon to see if it will still slip off when going fast.
Anyway, it was an easy job to do. If you haven’t replaced the fan clutch in years, maybe it’s time to make sure it’s working as it should be.
P.S I have some air boxes available for anyone interested. Email at speed43mods@gmail.com

Hope you checked all the pulleys for wear. That could be the cause for the belt to be thrown and shredded
