Steal of a deal???

Been eying this one for a while. He started at 10,500 and now is down to $7,500 Canadian.

Read the ad. Sounds like it's in pretty great shape with alot of upgrades and tasteful mods. Also has the 55 swap.

For you americans this could be a great bargain because of the exchange rate. He's near Toronto.

Let me know your thoughts.

It's down to $6500. Has a lot of miles on the body, but I wouldn't let that scare me away.

Seems like a real nice deal for the right person.

It's a pretty good deal. I contacted the seller and he's a pretty good guy. He's willing to accept $6K and also including a front bumper and a few extra parts. Having said that, having it transported from Toronto to Vancouver is $2600 CAD. It's still a decent deal but it has 300K Kms on the body and you'd be relying heavily on who did the swap and if were done right. It would be cheaper for me to bring one up from the US with less mileage.

Well not exactly. You could sell the OEM Monoblocks alone for $1500-$2k and make up the difference.

Why don't you hop on a cheap flight there and drive it back. That way you can make a holiday out of it, view the car and if it's not up to your standards or expectations you can walk away and still have a holiday.
See a jays game while you're at it ha ha.

I put mine online for $7k last month here in Calgary and I had a ton of interest and mine isn't in as good of shape as this one. That being said a bit less k's but I still have the 4.3l, etc.

Just my thoughts.

Trust me! I heavily contemplated driving it back. Again, for such a long trip, I'd be heavily weighing on the quality and reliability of who performed the work on the car. If I were to break down in the middle of nowhere it could cost me the amount in shipping that I would have paid. I purchased my C43 with 129K Kms with the factory 17" monos and a set of 18" monos for $8K CAD five years ago.

the engine swap in this car isnt really something that i would worry that much about. i actually kind of laugh when someone says "this swap was done with an open wallet" or this done was done yada yada yada.

the hardest part of the swap is getting the engine out and back in, aside from that there are a few hoses and electrical connectors to reattach.

if you are really interested in this car, and i think it is a fantastic deal at 6k, just go get it. bring a box of tools for the drive back, pick up 8 quarts of oil and a couple of gallons of antifreeze. bring a spare tire with you and a cell phone along with a charger and an extra battery in case the cigarette lighter is not working.

when you get there, take the car on a long drive maybe 30 minutes. you can also in advance, set up a ppi for $100 that way you get the car on the lift, look underneath and get a second opinion.

if the car is driving when you get there, i would say there is a very high probability it will make it home. but if it doesnt, you have your tools, your fluids and maybe a few spare parts you have lying around to bring as well.

we all know the c43 has a few problems but they are usually minor and you already have the new motor so its probably good. ask seller where he got motor from, what was the vin on the car it came from. get info on that cars mileage if you are really paranoid. but this car at 6k seems 100% doable if the new motor is fine.
