Found a C43 with a manual transmission?!
someone tell me what's wrong here.. posted my car for sale on Facebook. Guy pops up and says he wished it was manual and told him I did too.. 2 minutes later get a picture from a guy saying it's been done local with a w203 c230k trans.. I call bs! Anyone wiser on this subject. I studied this forever.. and ps I hate that steering wheel

that's one nasty lookin' steering wheel in a w202!
doesn't look good at all.
I wonder how much TQ w203 tranny can hold when c43 have 410NM?
a V8 should have an automatic, I could not bare with a manual transmission on a Benz
tell that guy to post pics of his car and info about his tranny swap

The bolt pattern on the back of the engine is the same between the M113 and M112, so a manual tranny bolted to a V6 will bolt up. I'm not sure on driveshafts and how to manage the electronics but it can and has been done. Also not sure on much power that particular transmission can take. I believe it takes about 220 or 230 horsepower in the SLK320/Crossfire. Was done and reviewed on a CLK430, link below.

Interesting find, but I have doubts the transmission would accept on the long term the TQ thrown at it from a 55 for example

Found a guy on Facebook who has a 55 swapped car with the manual from a w203 c320.
the trick, he says, is wiring up resistors so the ecu thinks the trans is in neutral. I'm waiting for pics of what he did. He says it was really easy to fit the trans, being OE parts.

I don't think anyone active on this forum page and I can't recall anybody elsewhere. It would be a pity to use a 43 to do this type of conversion. Each to his own I guess, but I certainly wouldn't do it on mine.

it would be so fun to do! also i think it would be relatively easy to switch the trans back after a year or so of showing off

Why not? It would only increase the performance and the overall driving experience. While a C43 is to me one of the coolest cars in my collection it isn't terribly valuable, so changing something while thinking of that shouldn't be much of a factor. And as long as you used MB parts what's the issue?
