Doing a w203 vs w202 c55 vid. What do you wanna see?
I am planning to do a full on w203 c55 vs w202 5.4 swapped c43 comparison video.
This is a project that might take a while but I should be getting started in a few weeks.
What do you guys want to see other than a drag race of course lol?

Im pretty confident in saying that build quality is better on the 203 as far as interior and interior panels go.
The only thing thats no as good quality is headlights. They have plastic lenses

Man, that's weird for me. My sister got a brand new 2005 C240 4MATIC and had it 3 years, 80k miles. The interior in my current 99 C43 with over 300k miles is still in better shape than her's was when she got rid of it. The car held up fine and gave us no issues except for stuff breaking inside it: climate control, seat control, transmission shifter assembly, sunroof, and that stupid center armrest storage box lid broke several times. The whole reason she got rid of it was all the trouble we had with it under warranty. At the time, I still had my w202 C280 from 1994 and it never had a single issue with all those functions (but did get a new wiring harness and head gasket...)
But to answer your question, I'm really curious how the 2 cars put the power down, which is the obvious question I guess. Compare them from a dead stop. Compare them from a dig, like put them both in 2nd gear at 40mph and rush up to 80 or 100mph. Then compare their ability at the top end. The biggest surprise for a w202 C55 is how much power it has at high speed. Does the w203 have the same?
Compare the exhaust notes, the handling, and 60-0 braking distance (the w202 supposedly had the greatest brakes in the world in 1998).
Man I'm jealous. I would love to help out with this video. I was a video producer for 3 years, but oh well. You live like 9 billion miles away!

It would be cool to have a complete virgin to both cars test drive both and give theyre unbiased opinion.
In regards to build quality I wouldnt say the W203 was horrible, but I have never heard that it beats out a w202? Ive been around both and would definitely lean towards the w202 having higher grade materials, but just my opinion

Btw I dont know about a non amg 203 or a c32 but the c55 is damn solid.
Its got napa leather on he seats and the shoulder rests are suade. Door panels are built the same way and just look more refined and theres better fitment.
I dont see anything a c43 has that a c55 does not have on the interior.
A w203 c55 also comes with wood trim if youd like but I prefer the silver aluminum trim.
On the exterior its the same story honestly. The w203 feels even better. The doors and the hood close in a much more solid way. Like I said the only thing I noticed is the plastic headlight lenses

Maybe if I was single lol
Since my youtube account will be demonetized next month for not meeting the new youtube threshold, I will be doing individual videos of the two cars than later on at some point a video of both.
I dont wanna spend too much time onthis since youtube wont be paying me.

I would like to see the unique AMG areas of each model. Maybe some comparison of features and reliability of various systems. for example, I understand that the front wheel wells were enlarged, or rolled to fit larger tires on the C43. Was this done on the later C55 as well?

Im gonna try to get started on it soon. Found the location I wanna use and everything. Its just a matter of making sure I have enough time plus have to work around my friends schedule also.
But please keep giving me ideas on what youd want to see.

I'd be interested in seeing a rolling race from say 40 mph and another from 60mph

Ive been working on Mercedes since before the 203 existed and in my opinion the 203 is the worst quality Mercedes interior I can think of.

PJ! WHERE IS THE VID!
Half kidding; a close friend just bought a 2006 C55 and I'm currently restoring my 99 C43/55. I'm really anxious to know how they stack up when compared! We will do some 1 on 1 runs at least.

I do not, but it's definitely something I want to do eventually. I have bigger problems right now: no headliner, faded paint, tired steering and suspension, old tires, worn out ignition switch. Not going to worry about any upgrades until I have all the problems fixed first

Sorry folks this never happened
My black car which was 5.4 swapped is gone but thats not so much what's been stopping me from doing it.
I've just been busy, had another baby. Eventually I want to do this when the time is right
