Well worth the trip!
I was searching around for W202 parts and came across an ad on Cl stating W202 parts. I didn't think much of it as they were probably parts that I didn't need and or had no use for. Not to mention, the seller was located on Vancouver Island which is just shy of a two hour ferry ride away from my location in Vancouver. I woke up early, the sun was shining and I thought, what the hell! I'll make the trip to see what I can find. To my surprise, the parts were off of a 1995 C36. $220 CAD landed me a set of rust/damage free, factory rolled C36 fenders, radiator, alternator, both side mirrors with housings and all body side moldings with the exception of one rear quarter molding. He also had the front calipers but I was a few days too late as they were sold. All in all, I'm happy with what I did manage to buy.

I love a successful haul. A few weeks ago I acquired a cupholder, shifter trim window buttons, and a new cigarette lighter plus wood trim for my C43 from a W202 and W210 at a 2 different local junkyards.

That’s a great pick up as well! Congrats! It’s an awesome feeling when you can find perfectly good parts from salvage vehicles. I’ve always felt as though I was saving the parts from extinction. It’s a shame that the person that I purchased the parts from didn’t know the value of what he ended up throwing out. Dash trim, doors, trunk lid, etc. The front bumper was apparently cracked but he threw out all the trim pieces that were attached to it as well. I find that excruciatingly painful! Especially with the technology of today as a quick internet search will give you an idea of what the value of these parts are. Such waste!
