Another AMG added to the collection!!!
Hey what’s up w202 fam! Just wanted to share my newest addition to my collection. Just picked up a 96 c36 black on black. 106k on the clock and overall in great condition. Didn’t plan on buying it but this one was too good to pass up on and was fairly close to me. The seller was great and worked out a deal with me. Now that I have 3 other w202s I have to sell a few including my c43 which I didn’t plan on doing. I had plans on doing a 55 swap in the future and keeping it forever but I guess now one of you can do that. I can perhaps use the money to manual swap the c36 and enjoy that forever. If anyone currently has a manual c36 and can tell me more about how they swapped it, I will appreciate it a lot. When it comes that time to sell it I will post it here for sure. Also have a 2000 c230 and 1997 c280 that has to go. C230k was my first car and is is low milage at 84k put about 10k miles on it so far in my one year ownership. C280 has 89k on the dash, but otherwise here’s the new addition!!!

Saw this car on Craigslist this past week, looks clean all over especially the engine bay. I would've loved to pick this up, but then my wife would kill me for buying another old car.
Wish I could offer some help with the manual swap. My current C36 has a 6spd manual trans, but I got it that way so have no idea what has to be done with the conversion. I believe the transmission is from a W203 2002 C230 coupe (hatch). My car has issues though and just sits around, but that's another story. Anyway, congrats with the slick black O.G. AMG!

MBWorld Fanatic!
Will stick with the c230K, for now and its pulley setup.
Plenty of torque and speed with these little sedans.
Would love to take on a w202 big block beast but the crazy a$king priceS, and others with questionable history, meh!
Maybe when sellers up here come back down to reality.
Anyways, cannot take on another with the w124 WIP coming along.

What year is yours? I heard the 95 and 96 c36s are the best to manual swap. Also what color is yours ? If it’s that old school Mercedes red I’d be super jealous of you luckily the one I got had the upper wiring harness and other preventive maintenance done to it. When you were driving it how did it drive? We’re the shifts smooth and responsive ?
Sometimes shifting into 2nd gear is a little rough, but usually smooths out when warmed up. Pretty fun car with manual, the 3.45 rear-end allows it to rev pretty quickly. I'd like to add a limited slip differential someday when the car is all sorted out.

Haha yes I have 18 inch 3 piece wald wheels sitting around. Also 18 inch monoblocks from w220 s class I can put on. But before I do that the car needs some lowering like you said. I was thinking about lowering springs like h and r, but might go for coilovers. Catuned makes bolt on coilovers for our w202s I believe. A buddy of mine bought them I’ll reach out to him to see if they are worth it or not. Last time I checked they were a little over $1000.

I have a '96 in ubiquitous Brilliant Silver. Red is pretty rare, but never really been a fan of red Mercedes. Personally, I think Mercedes sedans look best in black but it totally sucks to take care of.

Thanks a lot !!!!! I see you have a New Jersey plate on your w202 I live in New York. A w202 meet would be awesomel! I know Benzrider17 lives in my area, not sure if anyone else does but would be cool to all meet up one day.
