Battery dead, how to open the trunk?
#3
Unfortunately, the battery reached the point of no return: it’s at 1.96V with charger attached....
Trunk is not locked, but does not open with dead battery. Is there manual override?

Are the rear folding seats unlocked??(I always leave mine unlocked for this specific reason)
If so climb into the trunk and hook up the wires directly to the battery.
I had to do this on my car.

when battery is charged, just pressing the button inward opens the trunk, don’t need the key

I have your user manual in pdf...
unsure if this work...
looks like the key has 4 positions...
10 oclock
12 oclock
2 oclock
3 oclock
with the mechanical key...
turn to 10 oclock, hold it there and push....

On my black car, the metal key wont open the trunk.
If you have spare keys, try with that key maybe youll get lucky.
On my other c43, turning the key in one direction and pushing while the key is turned works. I believe its to 10 o clock like mentioned above

Thanks guys...
Just started dismantling fuse box in hope to disconnect the battery and then apply voltage to central locking system (7,8,17)....
Glad went back to check this thread and the good news is key in 10 pushed inward did the magic,
tried this with bare hand and did not work, pliers are really needed for this!

In my experience the Valet key is of no use opening the trunk when the battery is dead, I've tried. But running a positive cable to the part in the front works. Another thing you can do is get a battery charger that charges through the cig lighter, then you can run power, pop the trunk and go from there.

However, using pliers was able to open the trunk!
