Anyone know how to backup the seat manually? My seat won’t go forward or back so I can’t get to the bolts to remove. I need the seat to go back about 2 inches to get to the bolts. Relay and fuses are all good and no loose connections. I want to get to the motors to see which one might be back. Everything else on the seat works fine except forward and backward. Thanks.
Thanks. The 3 motors turned out to be in working condition. The rear relay in the trunk controls both front seats. The passenger seat works perfect, but the driver side it won’t go back and forth. So I ordered a door switch to try that out. I also ordered a new relay just to try that too. I could always use it when the old one goes bad….

I had a similar problem with the driver's seat. Passenger side was working perfectly. Finally traced the problem to a cracked solder point inside the relay (yes the one in the back). Got the soldering gun out and made the solder point good again. No problems after.

My relay looked good but I purchased a new for 28 dollars. I also ordered a door switch just in case. My lower back pain stops me from trouble shooting much. So for me right now it’s easier to just swap these two parts and hope that fixes it.

I'm nearly sure the relay is at fault. Fingers crossed
Here's a pic from the inside of the relay. The crack is on the last point to the right. Sorry for the poor quality...

I didnt see anything cracked, it all looked good. Hopefully it is this relay or maybe the door switch. I got some good experience taking off the seat.
This is the car I’m restoring. All the suspension minus the wheel alignment is all done. Back and front 100 % new. Test drive went really good, glad I installed the H&R sway bars. Car turned really well. So much more to go though.
I am assuming you’ve checked the seat rail for a jam in the tracks? Normally a penny falls in and jams the movement. Can you raise the seat cushion, then move forward or back, or when it’s raised, can you see any loose change in there? Not sure if this car has the up done on the seat surface.
is there anything in xentry pointing to an issue or code preventing movement?

Good luck.
Thanks for the reply.
The rails are ok. I was able to put a12v wire direct to the motor. And the seat went forward and back no problem. Tomorrow I’m going to try switching the wires from the upper part of the seat which the switch on the door works. So if I switch wires and the seats moves forward then that will tell me I’m not getting power to the wires that go to the forward motor. Hope that makes sense.
