MY17 Adaptive LED Optioning

Thankfully in Canada they've broken those out as standalone options. It still amazes me how much of a difference there is in packaging/standard features between Canada and USA... I could understand Europe and North America, but I always assumed it was the same between Canada and the USA until I started looking into my C43.

I agree it sucks. I originally had just P2 on my order but recently upped it to P3. I don't want or need the safety features but really wanted adaptive headlights. Feels like I spent an extra $2K just for the adaptive headlights!

In the big scheme, though, I couldn't be happier or more excited about my C63. Can't wait to get it!

I agree adaptive LEDs should be in a lower group or stand alone. I have all the nannies on my 2012. While i like them somewhat... I probably would not order them on my next car (most probably a c43). The LEDs are a must in my book. So like MB thinks... I will order whatever package it takes to get the lights. Im sure i wont hate the nannies but its a money grab IMO.... Def doesnt make me happy.

Not a huge fan of the new Premium packaging scheme. I think it was better having individual packages, such as lighting, driver assistance, etc. It gives the client options to what they want on their car versus Mercedes forcing options that some drivers won't use, like Blind Spot Assist, into them if all they want is adaptive LED headlights.

I can't imagine a C43/C450 or C63/C63S on the road that does not come with the Lighting Package. It's a must have. Although it doesn't do too much, it's just COOL!

Yup, this is something I noticed when the early dealer ordering guides came out for the Coupe a few months back -- I even mentioned this to my sales guy, saying it was an obvious money grab since you can spec the LED's as a standalone option on the sedan. Very disappointing, but I can't live without the LED's (and can't stand the look of the headlights without the dual lens).
I bit the bullet and went P3 with all the nannies (nearly 3K premium over the P2 package). I do think some of the features would be nice in situations like heavy traffic, but by no means am I looking for autonomous-esk driving features in a performance car like this! Either way, my Coupe is basically fully loaded knocking at 90k... so a couple grand is definitely not a deal breaker, especially with the ED and additional discounts I'm receiving.

LED headlights are standard on C63's. The only difference I can tell is that the optional ones move with the steering wheel. Meh, I'll pass on this and all the safety nannies and spend the $ elsewhere.

I'm getting ready to order a coupe and the build will most likely be as follows:
C63S coupe
Brilliant blue
black nappa leather with grey stripes
silver fiberglass trim
19" wheels (I debated on this for quite some time. You still get 285mm rear tire even with the standard wheel plus I'll end up getting some aftermarket wheels down the road anyway.)
Premium 2 package
Parking package (the 360 camera is too cool)
Carbon fiber 1 package
Performance exhaust
Ventilated seats

With 2018 changes on the horizon, can we please, please, please get rid of the crappy Premium Packaging schemes? Or at least leave the safety equipment in its own package...
I've been playing with the UK configurator for days and it's just so much more satisfying to be able to select the options you want. Seriously, why are the US the only ones not able to do this?
Let your dealers know!! Hopefully we can get MBUSA to take notice

the way the US configurations are is stupid. at least let people order their cars whatever way they want even if the cars on the lot have to do this structure.
The fact you can't get parking sensors without buying premium 3 on a sedan I think is pretty ridiculous too
