Is anyone elses start button like this?


I thought that is kind of weird. I am use to the "normal" one where it says "Engine Start | Stop". Just wondering what the logic is behind that change.

Maybe the beginning of a symbol button so they can use the same one everywhere.

Hope not, that symbology just looks awful - sorry

Would be better if it was just plain...

You could always just pull and swap it out

I've seen custom made ones somewhere here or on Ebay - carbon fiber etc..

Perhaps the symbol is used for markets where English isn't well known and saves them having to make lots of different ones?

That is one weird start stop button

Since you're in the US, don't see why you didn't get the normal button with words on it... You could ask for that one unless it doesn't bother you.

Must be since my 2009 E, 2011 E, 2014 SLK, 2015 CLA45 AMG and the current 2013 C63 AMG all with keyless go have had the same button. Nothing on any that says Start/Stop.
It is a universal button for the world whereas the ones with the words of course assumes an English speaking clientele.

Icons seem pretty intuitive to me, either press to get the motor turning, or press to make it stop turning.
