C43 Issues
HI Guys,
I have just bought a 2016 C43, i have had it for about a month and love it, its the first Merc i have owned coming from an E92...
Two issues...
1) Finally got some rain in Sydney today and my wipers were shuttering.. i have looked on the site and it seems that this is a bit of a problem with some models..
2) My dash is creaky.. not to bad but when it hits a bumpy road you can get the plastic rattle...
Does anyone have any info or help for me on these??

Head on over to the main W205 forum area. Both these issues are discussed. In fact, a new thread on rattles with screen shots from the dealer's solutions just popped up.
Rattles:
https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...ed-dealer.html
Wipers:
https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...ers-skips.html
One of the issues with having the W205 forums split in three is good information all over the place.

yeah pretty common issues. You can have the dealer try to fix the rattles by pinpointing the point of origin(s) yourself, or have them drive the car for a couple days and find them on their own. They put little felt strips in there. Some people have good luck with this, others can't seem to totally get rid of them.
I never had too many creaks/rattles myself. But what I did have, have completely gone away over time. Got ~7,000 miles on it now and I haven't heard any noises for about 2k miles now.
BTW, 2016 c43? Are you sure you don't have a c450? The c43 started in 2017...

That is annoying. It rained yesterday and I did not notice any noise from my wipers. What you may want to try is either using windshield washer fluid like RainX here in north america (its that washer fluid that has additives that help repel water) or maybe apply some liquid wax/quick detail stuff to the windshield.

Rain x and waxes are one of the main causes of the shuddering. Mine went away after the shop cleaned the windshield with solvent which removed residual paint sealant from the factory. You need clean bare glass. If you coat it with anything the wipers will shudder.

Rub it down with Coke. The drink, not the fun stuff. No joke, that stuff dissolves and breaks down all sorts of stuff. Great for removing tree sap or leftover chemicals like this

I've been struggling with this for weeks now. It drivers me crazy to have squeaky windshield wipers.
I cleaned my windshield with triple strength professional window cleaner..no difference at all. I bought the Griot Garage glass polish to get rid of all contaminants, water marks, calcium deposits, factory coatings...etc with a porter cable polisher. The glass is smooth like butter and squeaky clean. Still didn't change anything.
Next step was to go my MB dealer and replaced the wiper blades...still no difference.
Now I bought the Griot garage window sealant which was recommended by a detailer. I just applied it over the weekend. Now just have to see what happens when I get caught in the rain next time. I really don't know what else to do after this?

In Australia they launched this model as a C43 not C450... i have noticed that the US was as a c450

Nope! Rained all day today and my wipers are still skipping across the windshield. The glass sealant works well once on the highway as it beads off the water. If I drive in bumper to bumper traffic I have to use my wipers and it sucks.
I'm not sure what to do next as I would hate to replace a windshield on a brand new car. It's never the same as from the factory.
And what if I do and still have the same issue.

My wipers chattered/streaked on my 2015 C300 & my current C450 when I first bought them...I just used glass cleaners (like Invisible Glass) a few times, and I noticed the chatter eventually went away within a month or so.

Same here, C43 blades chatter.
Tried cleaning with i-propyl but no effect.
Not a big deal...

My wiper blades aren't squeeky, they just don't 'wipe' the full area it should... like they are bent or misshapen. POS wipers for a car like this.. I'm thinking the fix for me will be new wiper blades.

No, but one time I had a crap load of little tiny dots of tree sap all over my [old] car's windshield. I got tennis elbow from scrubbing the crap out of it with all sorts of cleaners. Glass cleaners, kitchen cleaners, bathroom cleaners, all sorts of cleaners. NOTHING!
Was suggested by my dad to use Coke and it literally wiped right off. So if there is any residue on the windshield that is causing a chatter like many members suggest is the culprit, then Coke will likely take it off with little effort. Bonus points if you don't use the whole can, you get to enjoy some delicious cola

Well for 75c it's worth a shot. But if the windshield is completely clean as you say, then it's a moot point as residue isn't the cause of the problem in the first place so...
