C43 Transmission update problem

Dear all,

I noticed that there was an software update, but I went to the dealer this morning and the computer show there is no software update for my car.

Does anyone knows the newest software number for the transmission?

Thanks a lot.

Here is the data sheet that I have got from the dealers, my car is 16/17 C43 Estate.

Yes, it will. Any software update to the ECU will erase the tune and you have to get it reflashed.

Isn't the engine and the transmission 2 different boards? I thought the engine uses the ECU and the transmission uses the TCU?

From experience with my CLA45 when I had an issue with my keyless entry, the tech performed a software update and my tune was gone. I had to get it re-flashed.

Was the update done by your MB dealer on your insistence or were you notified?

Can you define "did wonders" in more specific terms?

By following the posts, seems like your car is fine for now, haha. If it is not broken, don't fix it.

I posted this elsewhere...

I thought it was part of the transmission learning/breaking in process...but mine did it even at 2000 miles. Under hard acceleration, it would rev like I was on ice, slipping like a worn out clutch. 1st gear was the worst whether in manual or auto. Then, as you described rough shifting. I kept an eye on transmission temp as well. When cold it was worse. Even shifting from 3rd to 4th at redline it would slip badly. I too wondered if the tranny was done as my loaner C43 was perfect.

They did a software update and it is much better at shifting, not as "bang-bang", but still quick but properly smooth. Wait a bit but I'm sure you will need the update as many have

I'll add on top of that older post now that two thousand clicks later it continues perfectly fine and feels sturdy and robust. Very happy

I don't like the transmission update.. my AMR tune fixed my transmission.. AMR tune is a must have... not only does it wake the engine up but it makes the transmission seem to work better in all driving modes

To whom asked (I don't feel like reading that much back):

C43 = 9 speed

I received the transmission update. My car was built August of last year and I believe the update I received is from November of last year.

When yiur our car was built may have to do with an update being available or not.

It made add a difference for me insoothness if shifts although it still doesn't always shift down to 1st at complete stops.

taking in my C43 for covered Service B here in the next 2 weeks. Think I'm going to ask for any available transmission related software update. I've been noticing a dead spot hesitation accelerating from a stop when in Individual mode (which i have the transmission = Sport). This only happens once in awhile, but when it happens it's noticeable. Press the gas from a stop and there is a full half second probably until the car goes.

hopefully there is an update. outside of that random odd event, the car is a beast. loving it

Yeah, I get that too. I've heard a fuel update may fix that as well as a tranny update. Let me know how it goes!
