I'm looking to purchase a set of 19" CLS winter wheels. Essentially they're the same turbine style as on a C class, but the specs are 19x8.5 et34.5 & 19x9.5 et48.

Based on what i've read, these should fit on my h&r spring lowered C43 coupe with maybe a 4mm spacer in front and 8mm spacer in the back? Theres currently Michelin winters 255/35/19 in front and 285/30/19 in the back, but i'm planning on getting the same size in summer performance tires.

Can someone just confirm that they would fit on my lowered C43 coupe, thanks

^ Glad to hear you've read through this thread before asking

You're correct that a spacer will be needed in the front, but the closest you'll find is 3mm or 5mm (go with 5mm). Although you won't NEED spacers in the rear, 8mm would visually make the fitment better on a lowered car.

The challenge with that setup however, is the tire sizes. You'll never get a 255 in the front. Also, the aspect ratios are off for our cars. The ideal tires specs would be 235/40/19 and 275/35/19 (or 265/35/19).

I'm okay to run 235/40/19 & 265/35/19, but i'm trying to understand how @mo11 was able to pull off the setup that he ran. I know the only thing that might be different is his 10" wide in the rear running 295's.

5mm spacer making the front ET29.5 shouldn't rub either right?

ET29.5 in the front with a 8.5" wide rim and 235/40/19 tires will be fine, yes.

There's much more tolerance in the rear, so yes, 295's are possible on a 10" wide rim and ET50ish offset. The challenge is matching the proper stagger in the front. Requires a number of other mods to get more than a 235 tire to fit without rubbing.

I ran my set up for years (255/35 19 on 8.5 x 19 +30f) until i needed new front tires. I ordered the same size 255/35, when we installed it the wheel would NOT turn. Same brand same size, Michelin PS4s, only difference is the new tire was made in France and the older one here USA. I was so frustrated I ended up just getting 245/35 19 instead.

i thought you’re currently running 255 in front?

Regardless, I’m down to run ps4s 245 front and 275 rear, but I just need confirmation that its plug & play on an H&R lowered c43 coupe.

did you have any other mods/parts to assist dialling in your setup?

245 in the front is risky. I have 235 PS4S with H&R springs (+31 offset) and can make it rub easily.

c
easy to run 245 on an 8 upfront. Which is the max tire width you should run on an 8. Fits stock and lowered at between et30 and et25, respectively

^ on an 8" rim, sure. On an 8.5" rim, there's a high chance of rubbing. Not saying it can't be done.

I used to for years with no issues, but a couple of months ago I had to switch to 245/35 because the 255/35 PS4s made in France was a hair wider than the ones made in USA. Keep in mind the aspect ratio is /35 not /40. Once my rear goes, I’ll probably switch to 285/30 which has a closer f/r ratio. But, 295/30 is still less than 1% difference f/r, so I might still stick with that for the rears.
I originally had H&R springs on the 255/30 f, then eventually changed to H&R VTF adjustable springs up front, and kept the rears on the H&R springs. Nothing else was done to the front other than a good 4 wheel alignment.
I’ve been thinking about getting k-mac camber kits too. For now I’m keeping it as is.

Good luck with your setup!

@mo11 How did you get your camber dialed in so nicely? I just installed h&r sport springs and i have like -2.6/-2.9 degrees of camber in the rear. The fronts have -2.1 degrees, which is not perfect, but I'm complaining

For the C450 / C43 AMG we manufacture a “Total System” when it comes to resolving, costly, premature, edge tire wear. Or performance / track days improving traction in the pursuit of front row of the grid lap times.

OEM there is only Front and Rear ‘Toe’ (directional) adjustment. No Camber or Caster - essential to adjust tire contact angles, spread load more evenly to cater for other then showroom height conditions. High cambered roads, altered height, wide profile tires, curb knocks.

It’s all to do with cost cutting and ever increasing speed of auto assembly lines.

Currently about to get this setup installed. Did you have to put on a spacer for the front inner lip of the tire to clear the control arm?

I've gone through most of the posts on this thread, but don't quite understand the wheel offset calculations.
On DiscountTire's site, it says that I can use either Front: 225/40R19 or 235/40R19 and on the Rear: 255/35R19 or 265/35R19 without any offset (spacers?) necessary.

My 2018 C43 isn't lowered.
I have the AMG 605 Multi-Spoke wheels:

Front:
Continental ExtremeContact DWS06
225/40ZR19 93Y XL

Rear:
Continental ContiSportContact 5P
255/35R19 96Y XL

Looking to change to the Continental ExtremeContact DWS06+ in a 235/265 setup, since I can't find the Michelin All Seasons in stock anywhere.
Could someone confirm whether this indeed would work?

Thanks!

265 is not compatible on 8.5. Sure you can do it but you would be doing it for a performance downgrade. So don't.

There are studies that show a tire too wide for a rim actually reduces contact patch. You will have abnormal wear and you will be adding weight to each corner for less traction.

Run stock tire sizes on stock wheels.

2019 C43 Coupe
Hi everyone, my 2019 C43 coupe rims got cracked by a major pothole and am currently looking for a set of new rims. Could anyone please help me with a question that I have? Read through the thread and am unfortunately still very confused

My tire size (stock 19 inch)
Front: 19” 225/40-19
Rear: 19” 255/35-19

Will the rim sizes 8.5 Front & 9.5 Rear ET 35 cause any problems? Would I need spacers? Thanks!

Are there any 8mm spacer options that safely work with our car?
