Aftermarket grille fitment issues

I bought an aftermarket C63 style grille for my C43 and after taking off the front bumper, have installed it.

Unfortunately, on both sides, the grille seems to sit about 5mm away from the bumper leaving an awful looking gap.

I get the feeling the issue stems from one of the fasteners not being able to latch onto the grille properly. If you look at the image below, this clip has absolutely no room to latch on which is forcing the grille away from the bumper.

I'm sure many of you have done a similar swap and I am sure 99% of these things are made at the same factory in China, so was hoping for tips and advice

I'm installing mine later this week but sure hope I don't have the same problem. Where did you buy it?

From a seller on eBay. Won't post their name just yet as they assure me it can fit 100%.

Just waiting on whether or not they can explain how, or if I need to take it to their workshop.

Just spoke to the place I bought it off and things seemed a bit dodgy...

My bumper is off the car, safely wrapped in 4 duvets and ready to be transported. I told them I would bring them the bumper and grille as is for them to fit, and even pay full fitting costs (which would be £60 and assumes the bumper is still attached to the car).

They simply refused, saying the bumper must be on the car for them to do it. They couldn't really give a valid reason as to why I couldn't bring them just the bumper other than "it might flex so it's best that we do it".

To me, this screams of "we are going to butcher your bumper from behind to make this thing fit and don't want you to see it".

Thoughts?

Does anyone know if the the 2018 c63 grill would fit on the 2018 c43 coupe? I have read have not seen a definitive answer and my dealer is thinking the air intakes might need to be replaced. I'm not liking the diamonds.

The C63 grill does not fit the C43 as far as I know. The 2019 C43 grill might though.

Thanks for the information. I like the 2019 idea and i also heard about a performance edition that has a black grill. Those shiny diamonds go to go.

The OEM black diamond grill
Hello Mate.

Where did you get the OEM black diamond grill from? I have been looking for the same one in your picture for a while to fit my W205 C250 AMG.

Thanks

Make sure its for your c43
I had convinced a friend to buy a Panamericana grille for his 2019 C63 and I was going to get one also. he didn't want it, shipped it to me. I took the car apart 3 times and never worked the fitment is completely off.
I would advise finding a c43 owner that has done it ( maybe on Instagram ) and see where they got theirs.
I eventually gave up and now that part is collecting dust in the garage smh. but I can do a hell of a job at taking off my bumper now LOL
