Brand new C43 massively losing oil! Help!

Hi everyone,

I just got a new C43 about 3-4 weeks ago, only ~500 miles on it and the "check oil level at next refueling" came up. At first I thought that it may be a problem with the sensor, so I took it to the dealer. The dealer checked it and it seems there's a leak. After pouring 2 quarts of oil, the level still seemed low and they did acknowledge a massive leak. I left the car and they're taking a deeper look at it...

Questions:

Has anybody gone through anything similar?
Should I be worried about it?
Will the engine have to be changed/cleaned..etc?
What should I expect from the dealer?

I've owned BMW, Subaru before, never any issue...It's just strange that only after a couple of weeks I find something like this.
Thanks everyone!

Take it back to the dealership again. What you asking us for?

Yes you should absolutely be concerned and it is a significant problem since the M276 is not particularly known to burn oil as you as described.

Of course I'd be seriously worried and pissed off. Keep in there until they fix it, you will not accept anything other than a perfectly working brand NEW car.

It's probably just a faulty gasket or improper torque specs, I wouldn't be too worried about it.

I would ask to see if they did clean the old oil because that could be a problem but I'd also expect/assume they would clean the oil.

Hi, I'm asking for your anybody's view on having gone through a similar issue. What was the outcome, what happened etc.
I don't think the oil was burned, it was leaking. I've felt no foul smell or any other warning message other than asking to check the oil level. The car is already at the dealer - I'm waiting for their feedback.

Thanks! Good point. Would that mean they actually drain all the old oil and fill up entirely? Basically like an oil change? How many quarts?

No, I meant, if there is oil on the block (or elsewhere) it should be cleaned away. The oil in the car should be fine and topped off at the service.

Thanks. How would you check that? Just by asking? Do you mean like actually somewhere inside the engine? pistons, etc?
