What would the new C43 need to have for you to upgrade?

After seeing the 2019 face lift I'm not all that impressed but if the motor comes stock with say 410/400 I may think about it.

Does anyone think itll end up with the CLS53 inline 6 motor? Said to have 430hp but haven't seen anything on torque specs yet.

If it does come with a minimum of 410/400 I would suspect that would mean atleast a 12.4 stock 1/4 mile run

If it comes with the E class style interior, and ofcourse more power. Apparently the CLS53 with also have an electric motor for more power. ". The 6‑cylinder in-line engine generates 320 kW (435 hp) and delivers maximum torque of 520 Nm. Its EQ Boost starter-alternator momentarily provides an additional 16 kW of output plus 250 Nm of torque and furthermore feeds the 48 V on-board electrical system."

451hp 567tq? sounds good to me, Not sure if itll be on the c43 tho

I dont think its 451hp. Its probably 435hp as they said. The additional powe that comes from the electric motor doesnt come on during peak RPMS. It likely only comes on during low RPMS before 3000rpm. So it doesnt add to peak power.

but that would mean alil faster 60’ time yea? Even .1 with that extra power. I’m still hoping for a 12.3-12.4 2019 C43

I would doubt the inline 6 could fit into the current C series. It will probably be in the W206 in 2020 or 2021 model year.

"the ISA provides up to 21 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of initial thrust. It then works together with the electric compressor, which provides boost during the first 4 seconds of acceleration, doing the most work at the 2-second mark, as the graphic above shows."

Looks like that power is used for 4 seconds when launching. Kind of like overboost function in some bmws

Yea i don't think it will be in the next C class, looks like its only going in the big body benz's

yea it will make the car faster. im just pointing out that it doesnt change peak power. it basically replicatrs the torque coming on earlier in the rpm band

That would be called a C63 lol

I'm more than likely upgrading to an E63 in alil less than 2 years but if there was a way to keep me in a C43 Itd be at least 425hp. Wouldn't mind that with warranty at the price a C43 goes for

2016 C450 AMG
The redesigned 2019 M340i is rumored to have 380 hp...so the 2019 C43 would need to have at least that for me to trade in my C450 for one. And we're talking an honest to goodness increase in power for the 2019 C43, not just a token "paper" 15 hp increase either...which is probably the actual hp from it's twin turbo 3.0L.

I'd also like to see a heated sport steering wheel option, and a spare tire/jack option with the choice of regular tires instead of just run-flats. If Jaguar and Porsche can offer regular tires & donut spares in their vehicles, so can Mercedes.

If they come out with a C53 with 4matic and drift mode with the inline 6 cyl and closer to 400hp.

2018 Mercedes C43 AMG Coupe
Wait a minute... Have you seen the new C-Class Geneva Reveal video by Mercedes? Another video by carwow states that the new C-class will have a straight six:

Maybe we will see some bigger gains in performance...

edit: This could be just for the saloon/estates

I've had my new 43 coupe for about 3 weeks now and LOVE IT! The styling and quickness fit my needs just fine. It looks cool and is plenty fast. I can't speak for anyone else, but I do not track this baby and
just use it as a semi-daily driver. I have to constantly watch my speed in S+ fearing traffic tickets. It allows me to cut around and maneuver like crazy at its current torque level and see no need to up that
performance. And then there's the amazing sound with PE!
I love this car. I traded a porsche cayman s and was worried that this 43 wouldn't be good enough from a handling and quickness standpoint, Wrong! Only thing I miss is the mid-engine stability of the caymen but
thats not significant. Even the steering is comparable.

DId I tell you I love my C43 coupe. Iridium silver, wood trim and PE only options. What a steal!!
