Anyone Move to C43 from BMW M4?
Totally new here and I have been soaking in all the great info.
I am currently in a 2016 M4 and up until now, I had zero complaints. I love the M4.
But...
That was when I lived in TX - where it almost never snows or rains!
Now that I live in British Columbia, I hardly get to drive my car for days on end. And that is the reason I am looking into the c43, due to its awd (4matic) feature.
I know it is not going to have the same amount of power as the m4, but it seems the best compromise to my desire to have power and drivability in the wet/snow covered roads.
Anyone else make a move from an m4 (or similar - such as c63)?
Thoughts?
Thanks!
If you can fork out the extra cash you could go for an E43/63. It doesn't snow too bad in some parts of BC so the extra HP of the 63 shouldn't be a problem since its got AWD+.
Thanks! :-)

C63 you're in the same boat as M4.

I can tell you the difference between the 2 cars is significant. The M3/M4 is a much more a true to form sports car platform. It's rev happy, stiff (pause), clunky in a good way and best described as raw on demand power. It's difficult to enjoy the car in a tame manner...even more so than the E90. M cars are truly drivers cars. Where as this AMG-light C43 is like a Swiss army knife of cars. It does comfort and classiniss-ish pretty well and it does performance pretty well-ish and safety it does very well (lots of nannies). But like what a lot people have stated it's no C63 (I owned a W204 63 but not the W205) or M4.
I'm located in Vancity as well and due to the weather and little ones decided to go with the Swiss army knife C43 and kept the E90 M3 for the summer and runs to Whistler. So the thing to consider when making the decision is how much you value true performance and sports oriented driving versus all the other stuff (class/safety/reliability).
I plan to get a RaceChip in the near future so will be interesting to see if it gets the car any closer to the F80 in terms of just pure pick up and go.
Thanks! :-)
Suppose it doesn't matter much considering that you have a c63 and all. I guess I was just wondering if you were basing your opinions on first hand experience or not.
Here's a great example of how traction makes all the difference in a C43 versus a C63. At about the 12:25 mark they all go off the line. Mind you they don't exactly look like they know how to get off the line fast but then again who really does.
I just realized that this is the epitome of 1st world problems: “I’m really sad I have to say goodbye to one expensive car for another one...”
Lol
If you can indulge me -to those who have had both m4 and c43 coupes...
Is the back seat about the same? I take my kids to school regularly (they’re in backless boosters) but the main reason I got the m4 over a 911 in the first place was the back (while unbearable for an adult) was plenty for the kiddos.
thanks again!
opps forget that, just noticed u mean coupe

I looked hard at the B9 S4 and S5 coupe, and S5 sportback and drove each on all types of roads around me. I drove C43 coupe, and C43 sedans back to back and the Audis had better steering feel, feedback and the transmission was superior. The Audis also felt less laggy when punching it from any speed. Interior on the Audis doesn't look as luxurious as W205s but the technology offered is above. Overall in the middle performance segment, those S cars are king over 340i Msport and C43s for me. The only drawback is the Bosh ECUs in the new B9s are tough to crack and there are only 1-2 piggy back options to tuning that engine currently, so if modding is your thing then the C43 might be a better option. In my case when I was shopping between the two it didn't matter I would still pick the B9 over C43 any day. But as for RS options I would pick the C63s over RS5/RS4 any day.

edit: upon reading your response again, I'm sorry to come off as too aggressive. I just disagree that the C43<S4.
