So much gunk building up on the Performance Exhaust Valves
After driving 40000km, looking at the exhaust valves from the rear, those butterfly valves looks like a piece of charcoal. Also looks like the right one stays a open a tiny bit wider than the left side. Wondering if the geniuses here can tell me of a way to clean it? I was think buying a can of pressurized alcohol and spraying the entire bottle into the exhaust, haha.

On that note, my faux exhaust tips have gone from chrome to black. Anyone have any good solution for cleaning them which doesn't involve steel wool and a polisher? Ideally something I can just spray and scrub.

The soot inside the exhaust is normal and won't bother the valves. Degreaser and water will clean it, but you will need to brush it off around the valves and it may get into the drives and cause more issues.
Clean the tips with degreaser/water also if the regular car wash soap and a brush isn't working.

I used to polish mine with the mother's metal polisher and a microfibre cloth. But then I got it ceramic coated, so now I just wipe it with a wet cloth and goes back to brand new, haha.

He's just salty because he came to this forum a year ago and asked some pretty basic questions that could have easily been answered by test driving the car. I told him, "If you have access to a Mercedes dealership close to you, why don't you just test drive it and get answers to all your questions?". He's been butthurt ever since and takes every opportunity to tell me to ask my salesman every time he sees me post. I find it entertaining though - money can buy you nice cars, but apparently it can't buy you common sense

On that note - I'm going to stop hijacking Munis' thread now.
@Munis - I looked in to that Seafoam spray posted above. If I end up trying it before you do, I'll post an update. Let me know if you find a good solution too!

Guys, pretty much any non-polar (petroleum based) solvent will clean the carbon off the exhaust tips. Just be careful not to drip or overspray on the plastic trim above the diffuser. Some solvents may discolor it.
