If it were available I would buy the JB4 today and my brother as well, I like the simplicity of the Burger unit over the RaceChip.
If this would happen it would be really Awesome

Posted on N54 but no replies from Terry. Sigh. It would have been great if he was interested. I dinan could just have boosted up their numbers, I would have considered that as well.

I saw that. Meh, it's been a day. It's not like anything can or will be done overnight. Hell, he might come back say it's not even possible to do from a technical/software/hardware standpoint. Who knows. If nothing else, we'll get an answer down the road.

I have a crazy idea.
As a total JB4 fan, I’d be willing to get on a special program whereby, if we buy a JB1, BMS agrees to produce a JB4 within 6 months and we get a discount to upgrade.

People want JB4 but only a small handful have spent a penny on JB1.

I recently Emailed Terry regarding the jb4 and he replied....
You guys might get a better response via email, he's probably on multiple forums and doesn't read every single thread. Regardless, a jb4 would be nice, but the jb1 is a great deal as is, (112-116mph) trap speeds with a simple box that you can install/pull-out in 5 minutes (20minutes-first timers). So far 8k miles on it, and not a single problem.
Just an FYI, if you buy the Bluetooth (which I just did), you will need to buy an app to be able to use it...... the price of convenience

I have considered the Racechip Black and the JB1 and would choose the JB1 over the Racechip black for sheer simplicity and the same performance at a substantial savings to boot. I dont understand why the Racechip puts the modes like Eco, Sport, Sport + and Race in the selection as well, it seems tedious and redundant. So you have all these choices to set the car on and set the chip on.
That is why I was so leaning towards a tune, just set it and forget it. The JB1 is in the same ballpark where you just install it, set it on map 2 and your done. You select the driving modes from the dynamic select, as you normally would at your discretion. Now if a JB4 came out with improved features, I do not think many people would be buying other chips for our car. It would be a no brainer.
Also even though there is a price increase, there is no power gain or performance gain that I have seen on this board that makes the Racechip Black a better investment, especially for the added $450 price increase. Who care if the JB1 looks ugly, its under the damn hood, lol.
Just my two cents the rest is free...

Debating whether or not to get Jb4. Warranty is a big concern for me, I want to make sure its safe and undetectable when I take it in for service.
If you install a downpipe on the car, can the Jb1 get rid of the check engine light? (Asking for a friend)

First, there is no JB4 at the moment. And no, it would not be able to keep the ecu from giving codes if he were to get dp’s. If you are worried about voiding warranty don’t alter the car. There is always the chance MB will deny warranty work related to the engine or the transmission when you alter the engine.

No such thing as undetectable, even if the piggy is removed. There have been a handful of posts here about the depth of data MB corporate can dig in to when researching an issue. TL;DR - If you're not willing to accept the fact that a warranty claim could be denied, then don't tune.

I'm in. I used a JB4 (Stage 2) in my BMW 135i and it was awesome, especially the steering wheel controls (CANBUS). I just bought a C450 and I want a JB4! I will absolutely buy.
