THE DAY FINALLY CAME!!! Got the call today that my car finally arrived.
Still have a few things to get done to her; window tinting, PPF, and painting the brake calipers red.
So, taking official delivery next Tuesday!!! Don’t know how I’m going to be able to get through the week! LOL
Below are a few photos my SA sent over.

I don’t really like soft top convertibles, but that is a beautiful spec. Congrats.

Thank you for the information. I am still amazed that in 2003 BMW could build and RELIABLY track my Individual Build with a web portal. (not built...built...at port....on boat....in port USA....on truck...) As far as MB is concerned, I have now been waiting, like the rest of you, for too long past promised date.

This is supposed to be a professionally run car company. We've all put down deposits and moved other funds. Yet, there is ZERO reliable information from the company. A few helpful folks post what they learn, but from the Horse's Mouth...nothing......

To MB, supposedly "The Best or Nothing", I reply...Bull**** !!!

(and, TIL the board has a curse word censorship function )

Worse, I had no idea that "The Best or Nothing" was actually the product

Quote: Congratulations, properly drool-worthy! ! It chaps my hide that the C43 Wagon is available in NA but not in the US. So. Much. Want.
We don't get Wagons and a lot of other lesser variants (manuals) because the EPA certifies by body style and power train. So, you don't certify the engine and trans, you have to do it with each body shell-it gets expensive fast so if you won't sell a lot of them the US costs to certify mean we won't get them. In other places, the powertrain is certified alone. If you had to certify the manual/automatic with each engine/body style you shortly get millions in certification costs...so the wagon goes, the manuals get winnowed, and we get maybe two engine choices (each locked to one transmission) when the euro-ROW catalog has six engines, two transmissions, four body styles...mix and match...it's not a Benz thing....it's everyone who sells in the US.

Guys,

Bad news. Some of us may be subject to a passenger airbag recall. I was supposed to pick up my car, but could not due to the recall. Location: California.

This is different than the electrical transmission recall.

Recall starts Jan 2nd.

Email Benz
Probably a total waste of time, but if you are bored, meander over to the MB website, go to "Contact", and send them an email. You'll have to navigate past a bunch of FAQ like "how do I turn lights on" or "what gas should I use" but there is a window and portal. If nothing else a few dozen "dude, where's my car" emails may pry loose information. Feel free to reference this thread...shoulda bought an M2, I'd at least have had a fun ride the last three months....if you want a Benz, buy off the lot....

I love the ride/comfort level. The attention to detail is impressive. I really like sport mode with exhaust opened up, gives a great sound, although it’s not as throaty as a V8

I’m not sure this is what’s holding up the 2019 sedans... see this line at the bottom...

“All C-Class models affected come from the 2018 model year, while GLC models affected were built for the 2018 and 2019 model years”

Thanks, feedback like this keeps me from going sour over the long wait. Really hoping the delay is worth it.

what exactly did you sign? I’m no expert but I don’t think they can’t complete paperwork on a car they haven’t been wholesaled. Did you maybe just sign a deal sheet? Are you making payments?

nope, it’s not a deal sheet it’s all the paperwork for the car with the Vin number and the start date of when my lease started. We did all the paperwork so my car could get priority of coming to the dealership ASAP but obviously that is not happening. So far they are going to pay for the days I don’t have the vehicle since start date. I’m also thinking I’m losing on time as well so I might have them pay for that.

Not yet the papers was signed on 24th of November. I expressed my concerns. They are willing to work with me. We’ll see...

Cool. I hope they work with you and everything works out. But something seems odd to me. You wouldn't think that the bank would take ownership, and therefore risk, on a car that hasn't even gotten to the dealership yet.

I believe they were able to do that because Mercedes Benz is one that finance the lease so they already had their Vin number and other information

Again, I'm not sure so someone else on here with more knowledge than me should chime in. But even though MB Financial is the bank, ownership of the car transfers from MBUSA to the dealer. Then the car is sold to the bank and leased to you. I don't know how they can initiate a lease when the dealership hasn't been wholesaled the car. VINs are available almost as soon as the car goes into production.

Well that pretty much sums it up. If you did receive a bill from MB Financial then there is a lease in place. Definitely push back on the dealer for as much as you can though. I know I am. The lease on my current car expires next Monday so I'm not sure what I'll do at that point.

they are already paying for the days I don’t have it. I am concerned about the month I already lost on the lease. What else should I do?

Probably not much more you can do. You've already agreed and signed off on the price of the car. If they are paying for the days you don't have the car, they are making you whole. Are there any accessories you want that you haven't purchased? I got mine to throw in things like winter mats, truck mat, etc.

Wouldn’t put much stock into this. My SA just called me and told me that my sedan will be at the dealership tomorrow. I’ll have it by Thursday at the latest.

in case anyone is wondering: Preordered C43 sedan, California, ordered mid to late August.
