Does Resonator delete invalidate warranty?
HTXgearhead was very kind and helpful in recommending that I perform a resonator delete on my C43 Coupe which has a PE.
I started this thread because I did a search on the forum and there was no specific title about resonator delete, so I thought I might as well start one esp with the title.
What I wanted to know does it invalidate warranty? Does it only invalidate the warranty for the PE? If it does only for the PE, has anyone had any issues with their PE after a Resonator delete which has led to problems with the warranty from the dealership.
Those that have had it done, in hindsight would you do it again or do you regret doing it????

Your warranty is not a singular thing. Its seperated into engine/exhaust, suspension, transmission etc. What constitutes as part of engine or exhaust and not 1 or the other is very grey area and can vary between dealer to dealer.
But Generally deleting your resonator will 500% completely void your exhaust warranty (which nobody cares about anyways since it wasnt until recently that exhausts became valved and electronically controlled).

Yup I agree with above post.
So let's say u have a problem with exhaust down the road if you install the resonator mercedes will not cover it under warranty
It is a risk u take buddy u gotta ask yoursself which is more important.... Mods or warranty
For me no Brainerd.. . Mod the **** out of her now I am a year old

I had a C300 before the C43 I drive now, here in QLD. I had all resonators removed and a Magnaflow exhaust fitted on the C300. About 20,000kms afterwards piston number one ate itself, require a new engine from Germany. MB Australia did the whole replacement engine deal under warranty and gave me a C350 hybrid as a loaner for 4 weeks while the did the repairs. The exhuast mods weren't an issue for them at all, the just said if the next engine died in the same way, I might not get a loan car.

I did it and love it! Sounds great! Combined with the ASR module it makes an already good sounding exhaust sound even better! I don’t really care about my warranty.. I enjoy modding my cars...

Excuse the ignorance, but I presume the reason you needed a new engine had nothing to do with having your resonators removed from what you stated. Thanks.
