i bought all the parts from him. pm me and we can work a bbk upgrade out.
Hey sounds great buddy! Just sent an email from our last convo regarding the Wagner intercooler order from you all.
Look forward to putting a setup together.
Thanks again Martin Tuning 😁
Hey, sorry if I scanned over it but did anyone come up with a cover idea for this? My minor build plans for my car wont go far over 500hp and I think the stock brakes are adequate for me but I'm going to paint the fronts soon and really want the backs to look nicer then they do if anyone has a suggestion.
As has been posted in a couple of threads, whether the CCBs are swapped for composite brakes (red calipers) or vice versa makes no difference as long as the entire system is changed over.
I think there is a misunderstanding here. I have a 2017 Mercedes c43 amg. I wish to install w205 c63 rear brake calipers and rotors since i believe those are the best upgrade option. i know the w204 brakes will not work or you would sacrifice the e parking brake. that is not my solution.
2017 c43 (as well as c300), has 320mm x 24mm rear rotors from factory.
w205 c63 and all variants have 360x26. drawings below to see offsets and what needs to be changed. essentially c63 has thicker rotor hat and different offset. i am estimated the knuckle of c63 to space the caliper about 4mm forward vs the c43.
essentially the offsets are different so using your custom rotors, all you would need to do is make a custom rotor hat for the c300/400/450/43 all of them are the same. and you can use a c63 w205 friction surface and we have a brake upgrade. the caliper with proper rotor offset would just bolt up.
some 18" wheels will clear these brakes and all 19" wheels will clear. e parking brake is plug and play with below harness from c63.
oem w205 C63 caliper. this is same caliper on w205 c63, c63s and c63s with carbon ceramic brakes. they just paint it different. also i believe this caliper is on the s class and a few others. mounting the bracket for c63 brake caliper on my 17 c43. w205 c63 rear caliper mounted on my 17 c43. pad difference between 17 c43 and 17 c63 rear pads. e parking brake motor connection. e parking brake motor. part number for wiring harness needed to connect c63 w205 e parking brake to c43 wiring. c43 stock ugly rear brake.
hey, I'm new to the forum and have a 2018 c43 amg coupe. I definitely don't like the rear brake calipers and wish to upgrade to the c63 rear brake calipers. So i was wondering, how and what I need to retrofit this on my car?

Martin Tuning has the solution but you need to email them direct. That's where I got mine from. Not cheap but well worth it. i think a few other members on the forum also got their brake kit from them.

My c63s brake upgrade is coming together for my 17 c43 brembo "OEM" 2 piece rotors and oem calipers. I will be using porterfield racing r4s pads . Still working out some clearance issues on the rear but i pretty much have everything figured now! Best part is it will clear some 18" wheels if you prefer. But i ended up upsizing winter tires and will run 19" wheels. If anyone is interested in getting this setup let me know. Not super cheap but performance is there. and as far as oem brembo upgrades go it is relatively cheap.
I'm definitely interested in doing this for my 2018 C43AMG coupe. I just wanna do the rear upgrade though
i looked into all of this and even bought a c63 caliper. if you have the stock 18" wheels, the c63 rear does not clear. it even wont clear the front wheels that have same size rotor.
the slc43/cla45 rear caliper has a much different offset, and no wear sensor mounting.
my plan is to machine a cover. affix with jb weld, and then paint front and rears red. this isnt a true track car. if it was for me, id get 19" wheels and put the c63s red calipers on and call it a day. but you will need to space out the c63 calipers by 4mm it looks like. everything else was bolt on and plug and play.
besides clearing the wheel, does the 63 caliper fit the 43?
I have been doing the same project independently and am about two weeks behind Star4life in terms of finishing.
The costs definitely add up really quickly even though it’s a bit here and a bit there accumulating the parts required.
Depending on your source for the parts prices vary quite a bit, but I do not see anything less than $6k for the project - which is essentially a 390mm Front and 360mm Rear 2-piece rotor setup - a real alternative to an aftermarket caliper kit although I don’t expect too many will want to spend that much on brakes. Those who do are “outliers” as one guy once called me on this forum.
I find projects like these fun.
cheapest way to get big 390mm front brakes is a set of w216/221 chassis s63/65 front calipers, and finding a Mercedes’ 390mm rotor from a model with a suitable hat height (215/211/230/220/166/167/204/205/212/213/221/216/222/217 chassis all have 390mm rotor options with different hat heights
these front calipers(dual calipers actually) are often found for $250 each on eBay. I set up a pair on my 2002 cl class. A friend set up a pair on his 166 Gl class for cheap on his. Often times some of the steel 390mm rotors are very cheap
however this is a fairly heavy braking setup, adding weight is almost never favorable in performance cars. But it’s the cheapest option
C63 rear drum brake has been eliminated and incorporated with e-parking since 2016 and on, and assume the rear rotor is now same as C63S' 360x26mm.
However it's still not as easy as you mentioned unless you don't care to retain the parking brake (which is generally not recommended), and replace it with traditional 4 pot rear calipers.
Hello, I have installed the rear C63 brake kit (w205) to my c300 2016 and it's throwing up codes and the rear offset is incorrect which causes the caliper to rub against the rotor. We haven't applied washers yet to the rear calipers to correct this.
I have attached the correct harnesses to the car, and I cannot recalibrate the rotors due to the codes on the dash every time I try clearing the codes they just come back on the dash and throws me out of recalibration. Here are the codes it's throwing
7650844[/url]]so i fully looked into a c63 rear caliper upgrade. the first thing i noticed was the insane price of the brake pads. $160. the c43 were $53. so then i looked at the design. very similiar. just painted and essentially has a beauty cover over the face of the caliper.
would there be any interest in me machining covers that you can affix to the caliper. id need to figure out how the oem fixes the cover to the caliper. but it looks like the same overall design. ill look into the slc43 rears as well. maybe those are cheaper.
kind of why I didn’t buy c63 even though the used price was only $5000 back in 2019. Because all the maintenance and fuel cost difference is another 10k over the 5 years that I plan to keep. With just a jb4, I am launch as fast as c63, and that’s enough for me, I don’t race, neither on road nor track, so 40-100 time means nothing.
