New Cold Air Intake From MST Performance
#201
I am considering the JB4 Tune. Hoping they will have some sort of Thanksgiving/Black Friday Sale. I know they don't have to but hey, it's 2020 and I think that alone deserves a discount ;-) I know that RaceChips will have a 25% off
Sale between Thanksgiving day through Cyber Monday. They seem to have pretty decent reviews as well and their tuning box is a lot easier to install than the JB4. And in this case RaceChips will be a lot less expensive.
I know you get what you pay for. I did receive the intake today and it is the first Generation of the MST intake. Still looks very well made. I will install it tomorrow when the rain stops and see how she runs. The ECU should be able to
compensate for the air drawn in. Someone said the car lost performance and ran sluggish with the intake. Perhaps one of the Sensors wasn't hooked up right or the extension cable wasn't relaying the signal. Anyway, I will give it a shot.
If I don't like it I will sell it and just run the stock intake. Oh, do I really have to disconnect the battery in order to install the air intake? Seems a bit overkill.

Got the MST V2 pipes installed today. Man, they are huge! The stock piece just seems restrictive.
Same diameter both ends.
V2's billet aluminum piece that bolts to the turbo and connects the silicone pipes. Curved inlet to help with airflow.
Here is the stock piece. Air filter end.
End connecting to turbo.
Pricing should be around $135~145'ish for just the pipes to upgrade your V1. Didn't notice the intake noise being louder. My catless full exhaust is too loud plus the obnoxious weistec bov. But it should, as the stock piece has a noise baffle built inside. Did notice some throttle improvements in the mid/low end. Could be just placebo.

+1 where did you order and any draggy results?

You can order direct from MST. Contact them.
No, I didn't Dragy. Previous runs were in much different DA's and I have since changed to taller tires, so any runs now wouldn't be conclusive. Tuning101 will tell these pipes, or BMS' pipes, it better than stock~

in the stock airboxes and get a JB4 tuner instead. Okay, I did see the new version on their website now. But no way to just order the pipes and the metal connectors. And they don't even ship to the US.

to the air sensor and the ECU didn't get any signal or improper signal from one of the air sensors. You should perform a Continuity check on the extension cables that came with the
system.

Much appreciated. I have contacted the MST US Distributor but they haven't answered yet. If they do, I will post here what they said. BTW, the US MST website doesn't even have
the new Version listed yet. https://mst-performanceusa.com/colle.../mercedes-benz

Not sure where people are purchasing Inlet pipes and adapters alone and where they’re getting there prices. I reached out to MST through fb, ig, and emailed there USA site, and international site as well and was given the same answer over and over as I posted earlier.
if anyone on here knows where to get them or has a reliable source. Please post!
TIA

I just got an E-Mail from the MST USA (from the same guy Blaise) Hi Thomas,
Thanks for reaching out to us! Unfortunately, we only sell this product as the whole kit. If you have any other questions or concerns, please feel free to let us know.
Best Regards,
Blaise

I hope ECS tuning has better luck or I will return the Intake system to them and just wait and get the Version 2 once it is available in the US.

Now this is the entire system. He still hasn’t responded as to just receiving the new parts.

Did you get the install instructions? I can look for mine if you still need it, but its pretty easy to do yourself. It only took me about 30 mins to install

I was lerking on IG and noticed a new company https://www.mst-performance.com/ is making a new intake for our cars.
This intake "seems" to have solved some of the issues members on here had with the Burger sucking in hot air.
I do not know release date or price but I will keep an eye out and update this post.

I ran the P1188 and P1191 codes with an aftermarket intake. The codes would not clear and only appeared many months after the aftermarket intake install (not at time of initial aftermarket intake install). I replaced the fuel rail sensor as the code stated there was "no signal" to the stock "fuel rail pressure sensor 'A' (P1191) and fuel control bank 1 sensor 1 (P1188)". After replacing the sensor the codes remained. I then removed the intake and put on the stock intake (plugged the MAFs directly into stock MAF plugs) and the codes immediately went away. As a result I might suggest that either voltage drop or faulty aftermarket MAF sensor "extension plug" wiring is the result of these code with an intake system. Just my personal experience on the issue and $0.02.
