2019 C43 Racechip removed for service but engine light is on
I just uninstalled the Racechip GTS for an incoming dealership service. I connect wires to their original position but the engine light keeps showing up. Is there any way to reset the engine light? Or is something going wrong inside my hood? I remember when the first time I installed the Racechip, I had engine light on too. But someone plugged an engine scanner and after a while the light was gone. HELP!

Pretty much all the tuning boxes other than JB4 and Performmaster are 2 channel with some that have an additional rpm reference input, as far as I know. JB4 can control wastegate directly with their BCM, has monitoring and takes additional input from OBD channels.

We've got a nice FAQ that explains the difference between JB4 and Racechip/everything else.

Oh. I thought the jb1 was only a 2 sensor hookup. I’m waiting to hear back from racechip if there rs version is a 2 sensor hookup. The gts is 3 sensor. And in their install video on the gts it uses 3 sensors but not all variations have the 3rd hookup.

Sorry, you lost me there. Just to clarify, if you don’t hook up the OBD cable, the JB4 is a 2 sensor hookup.

The JB4 can be installed without OBDII and without fuel control for cars who want a more limited "simple install" setup. But understand what you're giving up to save a few minutes of install time. OBDII can be run around the door jamb for a 30 second install too.

However, total install/removal based on above videos (for C43) is a huge pain IMHO. By comparison, RaceChip's GTS install/removal even with 3 sensors is truly at most a 10 min job (after 15 min wait period to avoid CEL). I mean once 2 sensors are "modified" what is the problem to do 1 more? If RaceChip S/RS models use only 2 sensors connection even better, but even if it is 3, I fail to see what the issue is of 2 vs. 3 sensors connection modification.

Didn't watch that guys videos but JB4 install under the hood is a 60 second install on the C43. Add another 5 min for CANbus OBDII the clean way or 30 seconds the quick way.
Hate to repeated myself but understand the limitations of non-CANbus tuning: https://www.burgertuning.com/pages/faq

Yes it's an option but not one we suggest given how easy it is to install the OBDII which provides much more data input. Don't know on gains probably not that different than having OBDII but won't be as smooth or as safe.

Nah. Not looking for a complicated install. Why do you need obd port for safety. Other piggy’s on market not using that. I’m not looking to data log something that I can’t adjust or even know properly how to read or adjust. I’m just looking for a more simple product.

Who sells a product without disclosing gains? There must be at least a ballpark figure of what this product does at its most simple form. No e85 or no cats. No race fuel. Regular pump gas.

I do not see RaceChip spamming any mbworld.org treads (none as a matter of fact) while "BMS" does. Wonder why? I would start by fixing their site to be friendlier to MB owners the way it is to BMW/Audi (just look at RaceChip's site for comparison).

Anyway it's a big market and customers have plenty of tuning options. We added the JB4 vs. RaceChip question to our FAQ because it's a common question.
What do you find unfriendly about the MB area of our site?

this is the first time i have seen someone complain about having more and better features in a product.
OBD is not needed but if you don't have it, stick to map 1 or 2 based on your fuel with the JB4. it is an awesome tuning device and plenty of people have track tested them and dragy them to see the performance.
here is a neat comparison tool. download the "Dragy" app. you dont need a dragy to do this. go to leaderboards, and see what the top people are running for your car. I can tell you for the c43/450, pretty much everyone fast has a full flash tune from Eurocharged or AMR, or they run a JB4. I do not think i have seen anyone with racechip do 0-60 in the 3.5 second range like i have with jb4 and full tunes.
its not that hard to install to have that extra feature. Its not like its used every day. I set my car to map 2 (i have 93 fuel), and forget about it most of the year. When i want to go faster, i fill up with e30, map 5 or custom map 6 and log as needed until i make sure the car is reliably making the power.
