Miles on new car at dealer

C43 AMG

Miles on new car at dealer

Hi MB world

I am buying a new 2019 C43 AMG. The dealer found a car with the options I wanted. However, the car has 130 miles on it. I found it on MBUSA website listed as new. Should I be concerned about the miles on the new car? I didn’t get a straight answer why the car has miles on it. Just looking for some expert opinions if the car could be roughed around?

Yeah you're fine. Mine had 67 on it before my test drive, then they let me have an extended test drive Saturday-Monday morning.

Just test drives, I'm sure they didn't baby it by any means during those drives if that's a deciding factor for you, but it'll have the new warranty either way. Enjoy! .

When you buy a new car in Canada, almost all manufacturers state that the car will be delivered to you with under 90km as part of the standard contract. This car is at about 210km. Unless the dealer is cutting you a really wicked deal, or the car is your dream spec, I'd say better to avoid.

Did you agree to a purchase price before you knew about the 130 miles? If so, I'd say it would be reasonable to ask them to get you a car with only normal pre-delivery miles (15-20?), or to adjust the price downward about $500 to compensate. While the car itself is probably fine, the 130 miles certainly reduces its value somewhat.

Thanks all. We had negotiated 11.5% discount prior to his vehicle for another C43. However, they couldn’t get the one we had negotiated and this was the only one left with the same options, they are honoring the same 11.5% discount. They did call me to tell it has miles on it but refused to discount further.

Most dealers here would not let a test driver push the car hard. They know it has to be sold.

Most smart dealers will let you push an AMG car as hard as you desire, the cars are made for that very reason. If they know it has to be sold then their best bet in selling the car during a test drive is to let the driver actually experience the car.

Truthfully speaking, the second a dealer let’s you get behind the wheel of the car, the test drive is entirely in your hands. The dealer is helpless in that regard.
