Opened driver door while rolling, OUCH!
So today, I drove my brand new c43 to MB service to have some aesthetic issue fixed. I was greeted by the service person and instead of putting my windows down (just got it tinted, not cured) i opened the driver door while rolling to say hi. The moment I opened it, I thought i scraped cause there was a slope and all i heard was a grinding noise and the car put itself to park. After that event, I was able to drive the car to 5-6mph to park in their service lot. I did not notice any further damage but I am afraid that I have caused some damage on the trans. Has anyone experienced this?

i did the same thing, unknowingly, didnt think it would happen.... i think i thought i didnt close my door good enough, so i started rolling and just opened the door to close it harder (did this all the time in my Tacoma). and the car stopped immediately. luckily i wasn't going more than rolling.

i wonder what happens if you're going 25mph or something. Not like you're gonna open it at that speed but curious though. Anyone wanna test?

I posted this very thing a while back on this forum.
Because of this e-brake, I never take my C43 to the carwash as they sometimes open the door and stick their leg out since they are moving the car a short distance
to dry, vacume and do the windows.
