JB4 Reliability Issues?
I've been eyeing the JB4 piggyback for the my 43 but as I was asking around I was bombarded with people telling me to "go to their guy" and that "the JB4 is very unreliable". Has anyone here with significant or little miles on their JB4 tuned C43 had ANY sort of issues with their tuned car? I always saw the JB4 as a very reliable option but not so much anymore...

No issues here, been on for almost 2 years. Also havnt heard of anyone with problems from an engine standpoint. Some of the users had issues early on with switching from early gen JB1 modules to JB4 when the user would re-wire something incorrectly. But if you order through BMS directly you would get latest version with all that taken care of by them already.
Take a look at the BMS fourm for not just the C43 but any of the BMW or VW pages, not a lot of issues with it from what i can see. They are only tapping into a couple of sensors on the car so risk is minimal with the MB ECU safety features untouched.

The JB4 itself is super reliable and the only tuning option that can be removed without a trace and resold down the road. The problem is the JB4 isn't "the most profitable" thing for shops to sell. They make a lot more on flash maps that are 100% profit so a lot of shops talk down to the JB4. Just ask around and you'll find many hundreds of happy customers on this forum running it I'm sure.

I just bought the JB4 for my ‘18 C43.. would I be able to join the whatsapp group to read through any installation errors you all had?

I know of RaceChip installations that deliver considerable performance improvements, have been run for multiple years and have performed without having or creating any problems.

I think you mean that piggyback controllers are the only option that can be removed without a trace and resold down the road. That includes other piggyback products such as RaceChip.
