2015 C400 & 2016 C450
Purchased a 2016 W205 C450 AMG
So i purchased a used 2016 C450 AMG last month with 24,000 miles, still under factory warranty. It fully load with the drivers package, ILS, multimedia package, leather, and of course the panoramic sunroof. I already joined the AMG Private Lounge, and I'm patiently anticipating my AMG sticker.
I also have a 2015 C400 with 45,000 miles, the difference in performance is amazing. The C400 is quiet and responsive but the C450 is a beast in my opinion (wish the exhaust sound was more noticeable in comfort and sport, sounds amazing in S+). I originally had a 2013 C350 (rest in peace, she was flooded during Hurricane
Harvey) that was also fully loaded and i thought that car was amazing for a 3.5 V6, my mind was completely changed after driving the C450 though.
Dropped it off at the dealer yesterday to have the steering rack bolts changed due to a recall. Other than the vibrating steering wheel when reversing and straightening the wheel (which Mercedes-Benz of West Houston Sewell said is normal) and some interior rattling the car is pretty solid.
Any advise on things i should have the dealer look for while the car is in the shop for the recall? Manufacture warranty expires on 01/28/2020 since i only have 24k miles, I did purchase the extended warranty because I know from previous experience that the repairs can be very costly. How about any available updates? Any retrofits that wont void the manufacture or extended warranty?

Couldn't be happier with it. Car is an amazing combination of acceleration, handling, comfort, and efficiency. When I go easy on it I've seen as good as 7.2L/100km (34mpg) on my 50 mi commute into the city.
Most impressive is the rock solid handling in snowy conditions when everyone else is going 35-40 mph... I make it to work in the normal time hehe.
The only warranty issue I took it in for was a rattle coming from the center display. Otherwise, nothing really to suggest the dealer check.
Enjoy!

lesson learned.
when parking on street, if there's 2 open spaces, always park in the front space, NOT the back space.
i parked in the back space, this old guy driving a toyota van back in to my car while he trying to park in the front space !

Good buy!
I bought my C450 this year in March with 28k miles. It’s fully loaded as well it’s only missing the 360 Panoramic Cam but other than that it’s a great car.
Also beware, the car could have a malfunction with the AMG suspension. This is my current issue with it. I’m waiting to take it in to Mercedes to have them fix it. My car is stuck in AMG Sport Suspension no matter what drive mode it’s in once I shift the car into drive or reverse. The Suspension button doesn’t work once it starts to roll. When I start the car and it doesn’t move I can mess with the suspension and change it. I hope this doesn’t happen to you as well. I wish and hope you have many miles of enjoyment out of that car.

Also have a C400 here..is the C450 really worth the $7-10k upcharge? I already have a JB4 which is making far more power than the stock C450. I can also get an exhaust relatively cheap. Please enlighten me with how else it’s worth the additional money, as I am not sure what I will be replacing my C400 with when the time comes, thanks!

the looks is worth it.
c400 looks exactly like c300, dual blade front grill, dual exhaust.
C450 AMG with AMG signature, single blade front grill, quad exhaust. On sport+ mode, it's really loud when you punch the gas.

You do realize for about $150-200 I can get a new diamond grill and the “quad” exhaust tips? lol

I have both and yes the C450 is totally worth the price. The red seat belts, red stitching, tuned transmission (shifts way faster than the stock C400), MY16 exclusive screen, AMG Adaptive Suspension, and OEM exhaust (I love the PoPs and cracks i get in S+ to bad, wish the exhaust was louder in regular S). I haven't tuned mine cause it's still under factory warranty, and has the extended warranty so don't wanna void it.
What's your car do in 0 to 60? How about the 1/4 mile?

Totally agree, but about the PE on the C43. I talked to the service tech while we went for a test drive so he could hear the rattling interior noise and asked him if I could retrofit the PE on my C450 and he said yes. But it would have to be done on my own because MB dealers wouldn't do it. I'm thinking about going that route but not sure if it would void my warrant? I should have asked him if i could retrofit the new digital display, steering wheel, and command system.

Even with all of that stuff...that doesn't equate to a $8k premium/value in my head. I cut consistent 4.0 sec 0-60mph and 1/4 mile should be in the 12.3-12.5 range based on the cars I've beaten. I also am getting the factory "AMG" software tune in the spring that should give me the additional 29hp that the C43/C450 got over my car.

That's an interesting comment, I would assume that the gas mileage would be way better in the C43 than the C450. I will say that the gas mileage in my C450 is better than my C400, not sure why though?
