My '19 was built in late 2018 and to my knowledge its navigation maps have never been updated. The MSRP sticker says 3 years of map updates are included. The scheduling person at my dealership says there no map updates available for my car yet.
To me that seems unlikely (although possible). Has anyone had a factory map update performed in the past two years? Thanks.
For the 2019+ models the map updates are pushed to the car as an over-the-air update, unless you turned off automatic updates in the settings. You should get a prompt every time a new update is installed. It only pushes updates for your configured home region, though. You can configure it in the Mercedes Me connect web portal (www.me.mercedes-benz.com) under Online Map Updates. That's also where you can manually download the updates for the other regions as well as updates to the voice recognition, however, this part of the portal is currently broken for me. I got the last update over-the-air. Came out on 12/21 if I remember correctly and finished installing in my car on 12/30. In the portal you can also see the OTA updates and whether they got installed successfully. One of these days I need to follow up with the Mercedes Me support and figure out why I can no longer do the manual updates, but for now my map is at least up to date for where I drive, but if I were to move, I couldn't change my home region, either at the moment. At least if I moved away from the Western USA.
Depends on which GPS you have on your car. One can be updated on your computer and the other needs to be updated at the dealer.
I don't know what kind of GPS I have. Doing a VIN check states it has COMMAND APS NTG5/NTG5.5. Not sure if that is the GPS/Navigation system. I have a 2016 C450 Currently installed map is 2015/2016 (v6.0) N.America. It says consult MB dealer for the availability of new map data.
Any idea how to get and install updates on vehicles before 2019? I have a 2016 C450 and haven't found any way to update maps.
If you or anyone else is trying to figure this out and wondering why you can't buy it... It's because it's part of Garmin NAV.... Visit the Garmin website. Automotive, indash, updates select MB and you'll be good to go.
I have a 2021 GLE that I purchased in the US. I moved to Germany and wanted to know, how do I get the European map updates? When I go into the Mercedes me to try and change the region, Europe is not possible to choose? Can I go into dealer mode and change the region (don't remember exactly how to get into that mode)? Any assist would be greatly appreciated. If I have to go to the dealer then so be it.
