MST Intake Install Now I Half the HP and Torque

Hey guys new to the site. I just installed the v2 of the MST air intake on my 2018 C43. Made sure the negative cable was removed when I installed them, after install took it for a drive and my car was not pushing more then 150hp and 200 torque.
also the boost was showing wide open even if the car was stopped. Check engine light came on after a few miles with codes P1189 and P1191. Once that happened put everything back reset the CEL and installed my old original intake and car runs fine again. I find this sort of impossible to mess up the install since it's literally a few pieces.
Have you guys ever experienced anything like thjs?

No tune was done after. Not a requirement.
I'm thinking at this point I may have messed up thr connection from the main harness to the one provided by mst. I'll reinstall it and see if that fixes it.

I would look into the MAF sensor which is making your car into limp mode.

Agreed. This is the only thing that I can think of given the stated facts and problem.

This issue (at least with the p1191 code) has come up before with the MST intakes. The extensions can apparently be installed with the connector plugged in wrong. Try re-installing and make sure the connectors aren't reversed.

I'm going to be installing my MST intake soon (either this weekend or next weekend). Let us know if you get to solve it. I will let you know if I install it and have the same issue. Do you happen to have on OBDII scanner?

It does make sense he pulled P1189 P1191 which are fuel errors and that reverse wires on MAF couldn't figure out the correct air to fuel ratio.

I installed mine about 7 months ago and it runs great still to this day. Zero problems whatsoever. And it gave my C450 a bump in power. The intake is just the beginning of upgrades you can do. Get it installed right, tune it and then possibly do some down pipes and some deletes, but I haven’t done anything to my exhaust. I have a small problem chopping and hacking up a $2500 exhaust system lol. That’s just me though.

Same issues here when I first installed it and same codes. I had to go over the install a second time pretty thoroughly and ensure the hose clamps were correctly installed and everything was tightly sealed up. The other mistake I made was incorrectly connecting the air sensors (they'll connect but seemingly need to be oriented in the correct way.) Once I had done that and cleared the CELs, everything's been fine since. For what it's worth, I found the hose clamps that came with the kit slipped off too easily from even a small amount of over-tension, so I did opt to replace them with a slightly beefier clamp.

2016 C450 43k miles w/ MST intake

First time Benz owner. Came with an aftermarket intake (MST). Noticing some issues with the car trying to get its gears straightened out at low rpms/slow speeds. Hard shifting especially when driving lightly. Does anyone have any long term experience with aftermarket intakes on these vehicles? Specifically MST. Wondering about the longevity/reliability with the minor mod. Kiwi tuning chip was also found in obd2 port. Previous owner definitely had some fun but hoping they didn’t trash the vehicle. MB said everything was fine for PPI. Honestly thinking about swapping for oem intake because the transmission seems finicky.

The Transmission issue you are experiencing has nothing to do with an aftermarket intake or a tune. It is a well-known and thoroughly documented issue that permeates all C43. It can be considered a defect, but I think it is more appropriately considered a result of a short first and second gear. The C43 is pretty decent at learning your driving style, and will adapt accordingly.

probably want to do a throttle reset so the transmission can start fresh learning your driving style.
