Squeaking noise when turning wheel, 2017 c43. VIDEO BELOW!
So rece
So Recently my c43 starts making a squeaking sound at low speeds when I’m turning the wheel, I’m not sure why this could be in just here hoping somebody could help me. Below is a video of what it sounds like in my garage as I turn the wheel.
so I got extended warranty and Mercedes service told me their not sure if it will cover it so they have to check it out and to do that it’ll be $175CAD and if they end up seeing that the issue is covered I don’t have to pay if it isn’t I have to pay just for them checking it out. I’m just wondering if anyone’s got any advice or if anyone’s had the same issue. Would really appreciate the help!

That is a relatively common problem, all you need to do is grease the rubber beneath the steering wheel (not quite sure how to explain the location but if I can find a video for you I will post it here). As for if the sound is coming from outside the vehicle, it may be the ball joint, you could try washing the car and see if it stops if not you might need to replace it.

Is a replacement for something like that expensive on the w205? Also what would you recommend for best longevity afterwards? Lastly is this a common problem?

Edit: Sorry, I forgot to mention the only reason why this part is probably more expensive is because it comes in an assembly, just like you can't just replace one wheel bearing.

Here is the part number, unfortunately it comes in one assembly: A2053308403
The cheapest way is probably greasing it first, good luck : )
Edit: my bad that one is for the facelift, give me a sec

This should be it: A205330840364
It is a control arm assembly which includes the ball joint.
Check with your mechanic and see if they can install it for you.

To the OP, yep ball joint it sounds like. Try the grease approach first and then replace if it doesn't work. Good luck!

No to hijack the thread, but I am having the noise but it is coming from the steering wheel. Do you think it is the boot of the steering column? It would be part #2 of all the MB diagrams. Guessing silicon spray could help solve the problem. If you find a vid, that would be awesome.

left side wheel squeaking
Hi Guys, Noticed same issue on mine the other day took it garage could not see any damage or play in suspension or ball joints. tried to inject some silicone wd 40 with a very thin pharmaceutical needle in a couple of ball joints but no luck. I read on another thread to wash the whole wheel out side and inside with a hose which I did and guess what sounds gone completely 😅 no squeaking when turning or driving think it may have been some grit stuck behind the brake disc plate. been dry weather for a couple of days and no sound what soever

I also sprayed wd40 silicon but still had the noise. Yet blasting it with a hose completely sorts it out...
Did you end up finding a permanent fix for yours? Was it a replacement of the A205330840364 Spring Link?
