Help me purchase a C43 AMG

Looking at a 2018 C43 AMG with 40k miles.

Detail of the car:
  • Fully loaded with almost every package (driver assist, lighting) and with heads up display. New tires.
  • The price I am getting it for is around 38.5k with everything (private sale)

Questions I have
  • According to KBB, the price is great, but one thing I am wondering is how is the depreciation on this car? Lets say after 1 year I drive it and its at 50k miles, would I still be around this price because of a deal I am getting?
  • Is this car reliable?
  • Any issues to know about?

1. Depreciation is very unpredictable right now due to how the market is.
2. Yes, as long as maintenance is done properly, the engine is the most reliable, the transmission is reliable but there is learning curve for example some behaviour of it you need to get used to, so you want to test drive it to make sure you are fine with it.
3. I recommend getting a PPI (pre-purchase inspection) done.

That price is okay, it isn't something crazy low. We have a 2018 with the Certified warranty right now and fewer miles for a similar price point.

Really? KBB valuing this car at over 43k. Unless I am doing something wrong I thought it was a great price.

They always trend high. A quick search showed 12 available in varying specs under $40k with a maximum of 44k miles, some of them Certified.

How is the depreciation on these? It I drove it for lets say 2 years and put 20k miles. At around 60k miles with a fully loaded package, any idea of a price point? Oldest models are 2017 so not sure of the research

Depreciation will be dependent upon the market at the time of sale. That is ever fluctuating and is only speculation if someone gives you an answer.
