Hello I am new to this forum, I have a 2019 C43 and I’m trying to install turbo blow off valves. It was easy to locate the first turbo on the right side of the engine. The second turbo I couldn’t find and have no idea on how I would be able to install it.
My two questions if anyone could help is
Does anyone know how to reach the turbo blow off valve on that left side, If capable of reaching. How would you go about installing?
Video would be huge. I have no idea on how to do it. Every place I call tells me they don’t know if they can do it.
if it’s not possible , will it cause any damage if I leave only one blow off valve on?
It is NOT an easy place to get to, but is possible. I removed the intake on that side, as well as the black plastic intake part that is attached to the aluminum rail for more hand room. Then prepare to curse and moan, and have some bandaids for your bruised and battered hands.
I used a 3in socket extension (too long is a problem, but too short doesn't work either) and used both hands to guide the tool to the bolts. The hardest one is the bottom one which you can't even see in this photo. Its there... just tight to get to above the alternator.
I found a shot of the stock bov too. It's easier to see.
hey I’m trying it out as we speak, I can’t seem to find the right tool to take off the blow off valve. Is it a 3 in Socket to remove the intake or 3 in socket for blow off valve. It’s really hard to even see the other one . I give you props for doing it.
It's a 6mm Allen key. I use a 3" extension to reach

another question , how did you get past this main bolt when unscrewing the black plastic piece to access the blow off valve. It seems to be blocking it . I tried it on the other intake and it still did the same thing.

That's an E-torx head screw, either 8 or 10, I don't remember.
It's captured into the plastic piece, so you just lift up on the plastic tube once it stops unscrewing.
Not sure whats the setup on 2019 C43 but on my 2015 C400 the right side was easiest to get to since nothing was in the way but the left side one was under the coolant reservoir and Intake Box. I was able to install it without removing the reservoir or Intake box, I removed the intake tube but it was a tight squeeze and ended up with some cuts. Its worth the pain and troubles, car sounds amazing.
Honestly, the factory BOV vents back into the turbo inlet... most aftermarket ones vent some air to atmosphere... while this air isn't counted for AF, I still think it would be a mistake. It sucks, but just put some time into getting that second one on. It can be done.
Yep, thats them. I don't have a clip... and its frigid cold here today so I'll wait till it warms a bit. BUT, I can tell you its NOT subtle. A little lift will turn people's heads :-). Between it and the PE exhaust 100% open with modules, the car sounds incredible... Not obnoxious at all, just not subtle.
