C450/43 AMG engine capacity

Hello guys. So apparently my oil change took around 7.5 to 8 liters of oil in the engine. The car is a c450/43 2016. Is there anything i should be concerned of or is that normal? The car is not doing anything weird

Manual calls for 6.5L but throw you VIN on lastvin and mb.vin, look for something called oil offset amount.

That said, 8liter is a bit too much, I would siphon some.

yes, offset means add or subtract from what the manual specifies. I just did my oil yesterday and at 6.5L (manual specified) am only midway to max. I’m checking my vin this morning and expect it’ll have a +### offset for me to add to get it properly full.

As mentioned, not all M276 is created equally and therefore requires a different amount of oil hence why this amount is mentioned on the data card.

I seen C 43 that only has 350ML oil offset amount for example so that was interesting.

Oh it was 0.3L not 350ml I was talking about: https://mbworld.org/forums/general-m...does-mean.html

For reference, my 2017 C 43 has the same +1000ML oil offset amount.

Mine also shows +1000ML
It is also a 2016 C450 so I usually pour around 7.5-7.75 Liters.

I have changed my oil on my W205 C450 many times on my own and I always added 6L but on the 0.5L, I would use the dip stick as my measurement. The extra is to make sure that the oil filter is filled as it's on top of the engine. So add 6 and use the dipstick to measure, start the car and revv to 2000 rpm. Check the oil again and add if needed.

Yes the 6.5L includes the filter, thing is there is the oil offset amount. I find that when I fill it at the 6.5L by book no matter how I measure it, it is always close to the min mark. Measure it overnight, measure it by the operator's manual instructions, measure cold, measure it warm. Ever since I learned about the offset amount on the datacard, the oil level is constantly kept at above middle of the dipstick but below maximum mark, more like in between the middle and max mark now.

For me, I just make sure that it's the what the book says, then I use the dipstick afterwards and follow that as my guide.

Yes I pull and wipe then push and pull and yes at leveled surface, clearly, this oil offset amount on the data card does mean something.

Good to hear it works for you, to be honest not a lot of people check the data card when filling oil so clearly MB thinks it is not that big of deal and don't mention it specifically in the operator's manual for example. Thanks for commenting.

All good, it happens, don't worry about it.

As for checking engine oil, well, the oil has to drain back to the pan : )
