NO BOOST!!??!

I was trying to get a MAP 3 run on my stock with JB4 car on DRAGY. But the last two times i hit it from the light, i am only getting boost in first gear and then almost zero boost till I stop the run at like 70mph. Anyone have any clue why this might be happening? Also I am running about e30 or a little less in the tank right now. Thanks for any help.

I havent checked the valve yet. I havent pulled off that hose because I am not hearing the noises or anything strange at all. I also just went down to MAP 1 and it seems to be building up boost just fine. Im going to try another full throttle run again asap but its hard here in LA. Did you have to change that valve yet? It might be time, i just hit 56K miles.

There are no symptoms other than lack of boost, no check engine light or anything if that thing fails.

You're welcome. It is a tight spot otherwise very simple DIY, just a screw to remove and you just pull it out.

I would recommend testing it before replacing.

Take the hose off the valve and see if any oil blows out. If you see visible puffing, it’s likely oil and means the valve is not doing its job.

If you’ve already ordered the part, test it after install and a few strong pulls because a lot of Chinese valves function initially and come apart instantly soon after.

Thank you, that is a good way to test it.

As soon as I get some time, I will pull that hose. Do you have any links to the right valve to buy? Thanks

Unfortunately, I don’t. I bought roughly half a dozen Chinese valves for cheap because some people mentioned that roughly one in ten work. I found they all came apart easily and just ended up doing some redneck engineering to make it work.
