it's active suspesion, smart AWD, and an F1 gearbox.

The car is constantly deciding where to apply the power, and the active shocks give it the right rates for the situation.

Exactly, unlike the Z06, the GTR actually gets traction. I'm going to sit patiently for the V-Spec to drop.

I wish I had that patience...the V-spec will be an amazing package

Although its nothing a few mods can't fix

Oh please. The Z06 weighs 20% less an has more power. Sorry but a little better traction isn't going to make up for that.

Your wrong, a little better traction IS going to make up for the power loss. Your being proven wrong by the #'s, the Skyline is faster...why? it gets tractiosn. Its not rocket science.....no use in power if you can't get it to stick.

It isn't going to make up for that much power and weight difference. You may get a jump off the line but once the wheels hook up its over. A good example is the 997 Turbo versus the GT2 (and they're a lot closer performance wise).
Now, let me clarify. I think the Skyline is great. I just think its a bit heavy. And the 7:38 'ring time is a bit suspicious.

Quote: tough choice! But AWD and 3.5 to 60mph would win it for me!
AWD + DSG would be the big selling points for me on the GTR. That being said, the styling for me is down in the basement along with the IS-F. Love the C63, but the RWD is troubling given my areas 'aptitude for inclement weather'.

The 7:38 is recorded on video and can be found on youtube. It was also stated that it hit 7:38 in less than optimal conditions (2 parts of the track were wet).

I'm hearing lots of rumors that the GT-R's hp ratings are really at the wheels...but who knows, theres going to be lots of speculation from now until they start to get delivered into the hands of the customers.

I'm just glad the car looks very refined and can be used as a daily driver in comparison with a Z06.

Uhh....to late, it already did. Look at the numbers again. STOCK it runs an 11.7. The weight difference won't mean much with a few light mods, it will annihilate Z06's.

Annihilate it will. I'm starting to like it more and more the more i read about it. I think once i see one without the ugly wing, slammed on some 20's i will fall in love. Only downfall to the GT-R is that it's not too practival. Now i konw the 997's and Z06's are less practical becuase they have no back seats (and my Z eighter) but the GT-R just seems like a videogame car. Kina too good to be true. I'm attracted to the C63 becuase it will be just as fast on a 1/4 mile yet have alot more comfort and class. Who konws, anything can change in two years.

Carlos Ghosn swears it's a Daily Driver. When that man says something, you believe it. With its AWD you can drive it all year round.

I had read that the previous R33 and R34 GT-R's both held respective nurburgring records upon their release.

The R34 held the nurburgring record until dethroned by the 996 turbo.

The R34 was released in 1999 and the 996 Turbo was released in 2000/2001. That means the R34 was faster around the 'ring than the Ferrari 360.

Impressive stuff.

If it's just about performance then the GTR wins easily. This car is going to be scary because there's going to be so much mods out there. It's going to be like the Mk. IV supra.

How was the car spec'd when they ran a 7:35? Sorry but it was consistently around 8:00 then magically it turned a 7:38. Sorry but it sounds modified.
Again I think its astonishing but I doubt a 3800lbs car with under 600 HP can go around that fast.

The C63 doesn't run a sub 12 second quarter mile. The GTR will flat out waste a C63 in any performance measurement.

SO.... they were getting 8s not pushing it... i guess, the car is capable of doing under 7:40 times and they proved it. Get over it! Its a technological achievement of Nissan hat off to them, I might even buy this car! Its great . Will I ever attempt going to the ring and run 7:38? I don't think so! Will I Enjoy SMARTEST AWD, TUNABILITY, and 3.5 to a 60 mph??? ABSOLUTELY!!! But I damn sure it will be my 2nd car tho!
