Why no talk of Audi S5 here?

Re the S5: It's basically a 2-door version of the next generation S4. Performance and pricing will be the same, and it WILL be a C63 competitor. The S4 and RS4 will bracket the C63. Want to spend less and be a tad slower? Buy the S4. Want to spend more and be faster? RS4. Nice strategy if you ask me.
And let's not forget one Audi benefit. ALL WHEEL DRIVE. We all know how much 2WD limits the ability to put big HP on the ground. They're NOT glorified VWs. When people say that, it reminds me of how my Dad would call Toyotas "plastic, Japanese junk." In some ways, Audis are superior to Benz, and in some ways inferior. It's nice to have choices.

Ive testdriven the S5 on two occasions. I really like it. Accelerates well, handles well, brakes well. I like that its a coupe and its a manual (two things my C55 werent, oh yeah and the AWD) My only complaint is the overboosted steering at low speed. I believe when the "driver select" option comes out next year it will address this setting. ("Audi Driver Select" system will let you change the accelerator pedal response, power steering assistance, shock absorber stiffness).
Could it use more power, hell yeah, what car couldnt. But it is what it is, and it is good in my opinion. Cant wait to testdrive the C63.

Generally, I've found a much deeper enthusiast-user group with Audi than with Benz. To many blue-haired ladies buy Benz!

I also like the comment, "Ahh, complex AWD system is just another thing to break." I've owned Audis since 1992 and have frequented Audi boards for years and have NEVER heard even one instance of a failure in the AWD system. Sometimes ignorance gets ground into the brain cells and it's just not going anywhere. Our job is to make sure it doesn't spread!

Don't be surprised if there's a DIY "fix" to the overboosted steering. My A6 had a plug-in module that overboosted the steering. I could either pull the module or wire in a switch (which I did) so that the overboost could be turned off.

And you think BMW and MB coupes are any different. Audi have always had a coupe, it was only the previous generation that didn't have one. The original quattro was a coupe version of the 80 sedan, that was pretty innovative.

Soon you'll see many more Audi models with the same LED "eyeliner" on the headlights. They'll put them on every model just like they did with the grille. It'll get old soon IMO.

OK, you've changed my mind. I want one but ONLY if I can also get an after market Turbo for this puppy (Someone said that there is an active audi performance market with lots of after market parts. If that is the case and if there already is an after market turbo already out there, than all it would take is someone with the initiative and the cash to make this thing into the next coming). Heck, even if the after market Turbo cost $15K, it would still be faster and cheaper than the M6, the C63, the 997TT, etc...

By the way, there is a C32 in my family and it is no doubt a serious performer.

What's fun about turbos is that "Stage 1" is usually just a software upgrade that lifts the maximum boost number. Imagine that. 50 horsepower for $500, installed in 15 minutes! It can be rough on the turbo, and will void the drivetrain warranty, but that's a lot of bang for the buck.

Only idiot of the week agrees. You're going to have to wait until Sunday but you're front runner to claim the crown.
Hmmm, maybe I should get my deposit back for the RS6. I could grab a Passat and have $100k left in change. Great fun.

white S5 is perfect!
red wine interor
and
2 turbos (hopefully next year)
Unless the put the S6 V10.. the 4.2 V8 just does not interest me.
The C63 can't touch S5 interior. The the exterior is a toss up.
