No Performance Pack for US?

I have a deposit with a local dealer guaranteeing me the first C63 they get.

I just got an email from them letting me know that build slots for the C63 are now showing in their system. Here are the available colors/options according to them:

--
Configuration has been released for the C63.

Packages:
Premium II
Premium II includes:
Split Folding Rear Seats
Power Rear Window Sunshades
Headlamp Washing System
Bi-Xenon Headlamps
Cornering Fog lamps

Multimedia package
Multimedia Package includes:
Voice Control
COMMAND with Navigation
Harmon/Kardon Sound System

Colors:
Obsidian Black
Capri Blue
Barolo Red
Pewter
Steel Grey
Iridium Silver
Palladium Silver
Black
mars Red
Arctic White

Interior:
Black Leather
Grey/Black Leather

Options:
TeleAid
6-Disc In-Dash CD Changer
iPod Integration Kit

---

When I asked about the absence of the Performance Package, I was told they (MBUSA) "do not plan to release a Performance Package for the C63".

I asked for a clarification - I hope they're mistaken.

... Unless someone else walks in willing to pay more! Sorry, I'm terribly cynical when it comes to dealerships. My mo-in-law had her car sold out from under her once. It was transferred in from an out-of-state dealer to match her specs, and it was sold before she could get in and sign the paperwork. It's a business!

Did they commit to a price? (Sticker?)

Confirmed

JT, you beat me to post the news due to my flakey internet connection. I also received a call from my dealer today and he confirmed that your listed options are the only known ones at this time.

360_iti:

I'm still here.

Fact is, I first had a deposit on the M3. When it became clear that it was going to have laughably inadequate torque (my only reason for being dissatisfied with my E46 M3), I hedged my bet with a deposit on the C63. As the picture became clearer, I pulled the M3 deposit a few months ago and picked up a 996tt as a temporary measure. I'm having so much fun with it, I decided to keep it but go ahead and get the C63 for my wife.

The reviews I've seen only reinforce my decision to nix the M3: I didn't expect the C63 to beat the M3 on the track (though it is getting more of a drubbing there than I thought). But then, I don't want or need a track car - if I did, there are far better choices than both cars - If that was the only criteria, I'd go for a Z06 and be done with it.

The Z06 will slap the M3 silly, give it a wedgie to and take its lunch money any day, anywhere. Given that there are still a lot of M3 buyers indicates that (gasp) there are other cosiderations.

The C63 will be far better as a daily driver, and won't need to be flogged if you want it to go unlike the M3. The C63 is the better car in the real world - that is the world outside the world of magazine bench racing BMW fanboys.

Fifth Ring:

I have a firm commitment, in writing, on both first allocation and pricing (MSRP) from a dealer that has an interest in maintaining a long-term customers. I have very high confidence that they aren't going to hose me.

I think that the US press release for the C63 said they were going to have the performance pack. Anyone got a link to the PR handy?

I have no interest in a 450 hp RWD car w/o some form of limited slip differential, especially if it's offered in other markets.

This purports to be the Official MB USA Press Release on the c63.

http://amgmarket.com/amg/the-new-200...mercedes-benz/

"AMG Performance Package Designed for the Race Track

For even crisper handling, the AMG performance package includes a limited-slip differential, stiffer suspension, composite (two-piece) perforated and ventilated front disc brakes and an AMG performance steering wheel wrapped in nappa leather. "

Advance lighting was the option to have high beam strength varied on expressways and poorly lit roads and looks like this and Keyless go is not offered

Would advance lighting enable you to turn up the power on the light to ABOVE what it is set for in the stock configuration?

I'll tell you this... if that's not offered, its not MBs fault. I'll bet the US Dept of Transportation, which I believe regulates this kind of crap, woudn't let us have it. You know that people will crank the lights up all the way and then drive down some busy highway and just nuke all opposing traffic.

As for the keyless go... lack of that on the C-class is PATHETIC! I can get an Infinity G35 with that feature. Or, a bit closer to home the Audi's got it.

Not to mention that the 3-series has it as well.

I also see no mention of park distance control, nor could I find it on the listing for the C350. Odd.

The S5, at a $50k base, has a camera that looks out the back of the car and shows you (on the NAV display), not only what is behind you, but it actually plots your projected travel path in a pair of red lines precisely based on the direction your wheels are turned. As you turn the wheel, the lines bend to reflect that.

I really want to like the C63. I've got my name down with the dealer, etc. But it sure is missing a great many features that a $63k+ car ought to have.

2008 C350
Those options are exactly the same as are being offered for the C350 in the US. No keyless go and no memory seats.

Thinking on the W204 forum is that those will be worked into a redesign in MY2009 or 2010.

I would have thought for sure they would have been included in the AMG. That new E class is looking better and better (and I haven't even seen it yet).

The picutures on the mercedes-amg.com website indicate that the memory seats are available and the German Mercedes-Benz website shows this as an option.

I would guess that MBUSA will include that as a standard feature for the C63 and it is just not listed in the dealer ordering guide as that guide just shows what is optional not what is standard (at this time).

I hope you are right. However, it appears that memory seats are currently available for the regular C-class in other countries (including Canada, I think), but not the US market. I'm expecting that the same will be true on the C63. We will get a drastically reduced set of options in the US compared to other areas.

On the other hand, I think that the C63 will be less expensive in the US than anywhere else in the world...

Well the question is are the first batch of C63's 2008s or 2009s, if they're 2008s then I'd expect them to have the same MIA options as the regular C's. Now for 2009 I bet after all this uproar (if MBUSA has gotten a whiff of it), they'll fix the mission options problems along with the 300hp V6 for the C350.

No memory seats in a C class? Are you kidding me? I believe I can get one in an Accord or Camry. And no memory seats in an AMG?

MB is really shooting themselves in the foot.

can you get memory seats on the previous non-amg C? If not then I wouldn't worry about it. The fact that the keyless go is avail on the germany model shows its a way to keep it from competing with the higher end models-
