Here's a video review from Edmund's with the IS-F vs the RS4.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RV1HIwdkYoI

We've all seen the videos of the C63 vs the M3 and RS4 and this car loses to the Audi guess Lexus missed the mark on this some how.

They are a total joke. Completely fake and not even connected to the tail pipe!

I like the stack quad tips but why in the hell would Lexus put fake tips on just for show. WTF! "These tips aren't even connected to the exhaust system in anyway". HUH!

Totally 100% ruined it for me on that car. I won't even consider it.

The LS's exhaust tips are fake also. If you look at it closely you see the pipe just leads to the tip but isn't connected...

Tough test for the Lexus. The RS4 was the first benchmark performance car from Audi and looks sexy as hell into the bargain.

Lexus are going to find the performance road a lot tougher than luxury cars. The F- branding is quite simply tacky.

You can't just waltz into the performance sedan arena like you own the joint and expect the Germans to take it laying down.

I wouldn't base my decision on the fake quad tips, but heck they do not look good at all. Nothing is wrong with just stacking the pipes horizontally, and it's a case of doing too much.

If this car started at 47K instead of 57K I would consider it. Too close in price to the M3/C63.

the quad tips actually ARE connected. the car used in the edmunds video is a pre-production model.

not gonna lie though, the car is ugly as all hell.

You sure? There's a member over on ClubLexus that got an IS-F not too long ago and they are NOT connected.

not defending the car, but it's funny how the usual pundits come out and bash this car.

Face it, the current generation C32,55,M3 are going to get their more beautiful asses handed to them. And unless you are lucky, my AMG has been dog**** when it comes to reliability.

looking at the price, the performance, overall looks, *cough* exhaust tips, interior, not to mention an exterior that looks too much like a regular IS, plus it's still a toyota
the car just doesn't make any sense to buy over a "comparable" german car
only people i could see buying this car is a lexus freak, or a one brand type buyer, always had a toyota, and now they are happy it came out with more of a "performance" model

it's a good car though, for me to poop on...

And the C63 doesn't look just like any other C200 CDI diesel with an AMG kit and big wheels pull the other one.

It might just be a Toyota but in a lot of places a Mercedes is just a taxi.

I'm still in total awe that the car comes PRE-RICED with fake exhaust tips. They should have given it a faux-frontmount as well. Holy ***** guys way to make a mockery of yourselves.

I'm not a huge fan of the IS-F's styling, but performance wise, it's a nice first effort by Lexus.

As for the faux exhaust tips, I believe there are other much more expensive cars that have the same characterisitcs. This is info I've read on other boards (not personally verified) so don't hang the messenger

R8 - disconnected exhaust tips
LP640 - disconnected exhaust tips
Veyron - disconnected exhaust tips

In any event, it's a nice time to be shopping in this segment...C63, M3, RS4 and IS-F. Looking forward to some full comparison tests.

Just rumors.
That's BS on all 3 accounts. Those are all rumors, the Lambo and the R8's engines are right in the rear, where else would the outlets be? As for the Veyron, I'm pretty sure there are additional outlets under the car, but the tips you see really are connected.

The irony is that this car will be more durable than a comparable AMG/M. I wouldn't be surprised to see some fed up owners jumping ship to something simpler to maintain. I have always been a German car enthusiast, but we cannot ignore the Japanese. Not only do they build fast cars, but reliable ones on top of that.

trust me i know the Mercedes lineup

as far as Lexus, it's a Toyota, plain and simple, Lexus name is just a facade, just like their "beuty covers' over the whole engine compartment.
make it look good on the outside for their typical buyers...that are pretty clueless when it comes to cars.

have you even seen what's below the beauty cover of the ISF?
i would rather work on a BMW, Audi, Mercedes anyday...

yes typical buyers might not care since they'll never touch a wrench in their life
well I do
