Anyone here wish MB priced C63 higher?

Yeah I know it sounds dumb, but I kind of do. Being a former M3 owner, it ticked me off to to see M3's EVERYWHERE. Im not saying to mark up the C63 for nothing, but make more options standard and build it into MSRP.

Then again I see MB's point of competing with the M3 and other cars priced in that range.

Just curious if anyone else felt that way.

When you go to buy one just give them more than the MSRP.

a quarter mile at a time
if you want exclusivity, why not get something like a CLK63 Black?

I wouldn't agree with the price increase.

First of all, as you mentioned, they are in competition with the M3. A significant ($5k-10k) hike in price will probably make the car unattractive.

Secondly, it is a C-class. Despite the desire for exclusivity, the appearance is not much different than a base model. This desire for exclusivity will just be an "insider" or "selfness" feeling because it is probably just you and a handful of other people who would see and understand the AMG model. This is fine, if you truly an enthusiast... but why pay more in the end anyway?

In my opinion, exclusivity is best achieved buying impractical cars, like the Lotus Elise. I believe they have an MSRP below the C63 but are hardly around.

You still do not see a ton of C32's or C55's
You se allot of cars that look like them because of the 04 C230K SS.

AMG is not exclusive like it used to be, but it's very exclusive compared to M3's lol
talking about competition though, RS models are very exclusive compared to AMG

NO. Mercedes wants to move a lot of these, but they still won't move as many as BMW does M3s anyway, cheap price or not.

Here in Australia the C63 is significantly cheaper than the M3.

C63 on road cost :- AUD150,000
M3 on road cost :- AUD170,612

(Prices are straight up, no negotiation, and from the two MB/BMW dealers in Brisbane)

This is without any extra option on either car. I have to say that I am happy that the C63 is 20 grand less.

Would agree with this...given the current price of gasoline, any increase in price of the car is just asking not to be sold.
I remember when I was in school and lusting after the SL500 ('80s-'90s), I believe they were priced over 100 grand at that time. Since then, MB had to adjust the price down in order to compete.

i agree with what eveyone said, it was just a curious thought reading through some of the posts about the msrp- i should have mentioned that i understand the C is the entry level for Merc so exclusivity isnt what you will get nor is it what im looking for... its just with the AMG trim level I would hope more things came standard, like leather and bi-xenons headlights, etc (i feel the same way about the m3)

regardless Ill be getting one, just with more options

Call me stupid or crazy but i don't understand why it ticked you off to see M3's everywhere? I can't help it but it sounds a bit egoistic to me.
I can't afford to buy a new M3 or C63 so I like to see M3's, AMG's, Ferraris, Porsches and Lamborghinis and other sportscars. It makes me happy to see cars like that and I think EVERYONE should have an M3 or AMG Mercedes, that would be paradise to me

I'd be happy if the carbon fiber trim is standard on the C63, but instead it's US$2,600 option over here

I can agree with the OP. I like seeing certain things priced higher so undesirable people can't obtain them. I wish there was a way to keep them from accessing food, shelter and medical care too. There is nothing worse than a fat poor person. You know...a poser that looks like he eats well when he really can't afford to.

I'm just yankin' your chain.

Mercedes and Exclusive dont mix anymore. It used to mean a great deal to me when I saw a benz when I was younger, now, evryone has one. Even kids are driving them now. They lost that luster to me awhile back.

They are still just as exclusive,it's simply demographics.everyone that lives in your area is making $ or made $ and they buy the MB.take your car on a cross country road trip and get into the heartland.drive down a rural residential street in kansas and all the neighbors will start rumors that they saw a movie star in a MB.

My GL550 got some looks when I drove to Texas last a while back. Everyone was amazed at how beautiful it was and well how it put their Suburban's and such to shame.

............my fellow MB owners never fail to amaze me. If you think this way about Suburban owners, can you imagine what Ferrari owners think about you. You may want to go now, and hide your GL550.
