Anyone go from E55 to C63?

I had an E55 I sold about a year ago and loved it. However, I was not as thrilled with the E63 which is why i never bothered to pick one up to replace the E55. However, the C63 has my curiousity piqued as it seems to have a rather favorable power-to-weight ratio and would probably handle much better than the E. I'm just wondering if anyone made the move from the E55 to the C63 and if it was worth it or not. Does the acceleration compare favorably?

If you have kids or regular rear passengers then keep the E, which is still a king in straightline speed. If it's all about handling for you then I'd go for the M3

I sold the E awhile back. Just thinking of getting into a new sedan. The kids are 1 and 3 years old, so the back seat space isnt a big issue. If I go with a sedan, it has to be automatic, so the M3 is out of the question.

As crazy as it may sound, the only other car I am considering right now is an '04 Gallardo that a buddy of mine offered to sell me. While I appreciate the responses, guys, I'm simply not cross shopping the C63 between M3 or any other sedan.

I just want to know if anyone out there has gone from E55 to C63.

The C63 caught my eye, or rather, ear the other day. I was in Phoenix at the Biltmore Fashion Park and heard something start up and emit a nice deep rumble. When I turned to look, it was a C63. The guy got in and took off and it sounded mean as hell which practically sold me on it.

Here's a picture of my back seat since you indicated that you still need car seats. I'd say go for it.

I upgraded from a C55 to E55 early last year. I do love the C63 and considered waiting but don't regret the decision. I have two kids as well (1 and 3 years old) and I really just felt cramped in the C55 when cruising around with the family so I suspected the C63 would not meet my needs. I had to have something that could carry the whole family in comfort and be an excuse not to use our minivan The E class trunk space is also a big plus. It is just huge, which is a necessity when it comes to hauling around the family (double stroller, toys, bags, etc.) on weekend road trips.

Umm, no...
I have yet to drive a C63 and my point of reference on my next sedan purchase is having owned an E55.

I want to hear from folks who have been on both sides (E55 and C63)

Gthang, I'm with you on the utility of the car. Huge trunk and plenty of backseat room was great on my E55. It was awesome for road trips too. However, if I go for another Benz, it has to be new (and leased) and the E63 just doesn't do it for me. My main gripe with the E55 was the resale value. mind you i even purchased mine used and still lost a grip when it came time to sell it. I did the numbers and it would have been cheaper, in the long run, to have leased a new E55 and returned it to the dealer rather than the way I purchased a used one and sold it two years later. I learned the hard way that the only way to go is to lease. I know it can be a contentious debate, but M-B resale is so s**tty that nowadays it's almost foolish to pay cash or finance if you don't plan on keeping it.

I dont see too much of room space difference between the C and E class from my personal experience. If it was an S class there is a huge difference, button line is you love the C63, you need to get it, its got enough room for a family of 4.

Well, can't say I love the C63, but it impresses me the most of the 63 engined cars due to it being the smallest/lightest one and still being a 4-door.

A close friend of mine bought a new C350,and being that he is 6'-0" he thought it was much more roomier then his '06 C320.He drove my E and sold his new C350 1 month later as he found it too cramped&needed the extra room the E-class offered.Yeah, there's alot goin on with my story but I cut to the chase for ya.The C350 is not a C63 but the interior is fundamentally the same as the AMG.

As far as the C63 being the fastest of the 63's that has yet to be proven, but stock for stock I wouldn't hold my breath
