I'm just wondering what the buttons under the "ON" button were originally for. I think it looks kinda ugly having those buttons there, but without any functions. Please see the attached photo below.

Some euro options that are not available in the US maybe? Not sure. I couldn't find any interior pics with all of the buttons fully functioned.

i looked at my car after i read your post...it turns out to be the memory stick port (the wide 'button') and the small button to the left is the eject for it.

I didnt realize what it was until i was messing around with Command, and one of the options in the Audio menu is the memory stick, and i clicked on it and it told me it was empty, then i touched the slot and realized thats where the memory stick went.

Hope that answers your question.

I dont think it did. Obviously he was asking about the 4 buttons in a row below the memory stick slot.

haha im an idiot, sorry about that. yea those blank buttons do look kind of crappy, but oh well, who needs the radio anyways when you can listen to the exhaust

Position LL) - Sport button for dynamic handling packing (non-AMG)
Position ML) - Rear blind raise/lower
Position MR) - Parktronic off/on
Position RR) - Turn off anti-tow feature of alarm

That's my guess.
