Talking C63 What would be the largest Tires?

Just wondering if anyone knows what would be the largest 18" tires both front and rear that could be mounted on the stock 18" rims? What sizes come with from the factory on the 18"AMG wheels? Thanks in advance for any help here!

This is an important question from a performance standpoint I think. Tires I think are the weakest link on this car. The M3 is both lighter and has fatter tires - THIS IMO is the main cause of the delta on the track.

In a PZero OEM rims should fit (according to tirerack specs):

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/Spec.j...irePageLocQty=

Fr: 245/35/18
Rr: 265/40/18

If you go + by 1/2" which I've done before w/ another rim and another tire you might be able to go

Fr: 255/35/18 (rec rim range: 8.5 - 10)
Rr: 285/35/18 (rec rim range: 9.5 - 11)

diameter on the 255 is close to OEM. diameter on the 285 is 0.8" larger. As a point of reference, here's what's on the F1 medical which is a C63 estate. "19-inch AMG light-alloy wheels of 8.5-inch (front) and 9.5-inch (rear) width are fitted with Pirelli tyres of sizes 255/35 and 285/30, respectively."

Interesting read. May have been referenced already, apologies in advance. Link:

Do it! ! I'm hoping that'll all get sorted by the time I'm ready for rims.

Phil, I don't have the car yet. July 1 build date. I looked up the PZeros b/c that's what's on the 08 test cars given to the magazines.

Yes, the maximum I would go is 275 in the rear. I went up to a 265/30 on my 19" rims, and they fit perfect. I would like to try a 275, but I think even that might be pushing it a little depending on the particular tire make/model.

Yeah I'm also looking to switch to a wider tire once the OEM Pirellis wear out.

I'm slightly confused about the specs on the F1 C63: 255/35 and 285/30 on 19" wheels -- why a 30 series tire in the back? Is there any benefit to running different diameter setups, front vs. rear?

The profile height (30 series) is a percentage of the tyre width. If the rears are wider they will need a lower profile than the fronts to maintain a similar overall diameter.

On a different note I think 275 in the back is absolutely the max I would go. Many people are running 265's
